Hair Vitamins

There are variety  of various specific hair vitamins and minerals that may play a significant role in helping someone have a very good healthy head of hair. If someone doesn’t have sufficient hair vitamins then the deficiencies can lead to thinning hair or even total baldness in probably the most severe cases. The fact is that the state of a person’s hair reflects the overall condition of their body. Extra hair vitamins are more likely to be needed if someone is mostly unwell or is undernourished as their hair will show damage too and may even even stop growing.
Some of probably the most important hair vitamins that somebody must have healthy hair include B6, biotin, inositol and folic acid. the perfect way to make sure a person receives enough of these essential hair vitamins are for them to be taken as vitamin supplements. It isn’t just hair vitamins which are necessary for healthy hair though as there are a number of minerals which are essential, including magnesium, sulphur, silica and zinc.
the most essential hair vitamin is vitamin a but the top form of this is to include in the diet is beta-carotene. It is because the hair vitamin A are usually toxic if consumed in large quantities but beta-carotene has no such problems and is converted by the body into vitamin A that can be used to promote healthy hair. Obviously, vitamin A isn’t just a hair vitamin, it is also needed for a number of other functions including normal growth of bones, skin, nails as well as the protective sheath surrounding nerve fibres.
Protein is another essential hair vitamin.

It’s because hair itself is essentially protein. The total amount of this hair vitamin that individuals consumes in their diet can affect the hair directly. If a lot of protein is included in a person抯 diet then this hair vitamin will lead to improved hair growth and a far fuller head of hair. However, a person who has a diet that is lacking in this hair vitamin will suffer from thinning hair and slow hair growth.
Obviously, it is not just hair vitamins and minerals which are needed to be sure that a person has healthy, strong hair. There are variety  of researchers who have found that there are direct links between the general health of people as well as the condition of the hair. If people is under a lot of stress or suffers from a lack of sleep then their hair is also more likely to suffer and it is likely that their diet will not provide enough hair vitamins to counter these effects. Hair vitamin and mineral supplements are usually the solution to weak and damaged hair.

Memory Supplements That Boost Memory and Brain Function

Have you or anyone around you ever said you were having a “senior moment?” In defense of seniors, you can have one of these moments at any age. What it refers to are those moments when you can’t remember what you came into a room for or you can’t find your car keys for the billionth time this week. These moments are a common occurrence, but the older you get, the more you worry if something more is going on.

Alzheimer’s and dementia are conditions in which memory and mental cognition are greatly compromised. Mental deterioration can occur very quickly. So, what can you do right now to help with the minor forgetful annoyances and possibly improve your odds of avoiding a more serious condition? There are memory supplements that have shown to improve, to varying degrees, brain function and memory processes.

Here are some of the more common memory supplement ingredients and how they work:

* Ginkgo Biloba-The recommended daily dose is 240mg for the full memory boosting benefits of this memory supplement. This herb improves blood circulation which means that more oxygen is getting to the brain. It also acts as a natural anti-oxidant by helping fight the damaging effects of free radicals on cells.

* Ginseng-This natural herbal memory supplement is believed to reduce fatigue and is usually taken in conjunction with ginkgo. If you are less fatigued, your mental acuity is better and your concentration level is higher.

* Selenium-This mineral has been found to boost energy and elevate mood. If you are feeling active and happy, you will think more clearly.

* Folic Acid-A deficiency of this vitamin increases the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.

* Omega-3s-The benefit of omega-3s to brain function is that it is believed to affect the neurons that transmit information by building new lines of communication in the neurons.

* Antioxidants-These include vitamins like E and C. Proteins and natural plant extracts also contain antioxidant power. These hard-working ingredients fight off the free radicals that threaten the cells and tissue of the body. Free radicals come from the environment, pollution and stress. They rid the brain of oxidized cells and help repair damage.

* Vitamin E-Taking the recommended dose of vitamin E may help slow the onset of Alzheimer’s disease. So, if there is a family history of this condition, you should seek your doctor’s advice for the same. Vitamin E is believed to help in circulation.

There isn’t a lot of research regarding these natural memory supplements so be sure to only take the recommended dose. Also, before adding any type of medication-natural, prescription or over the counter- always check with your physician or pharmacist first.

Make them aware of other medications you are taking so they can determine if there is a risk of drug interactions. Just because these memory supplements are natural doesn’t mean they can cause a bad reaction with something else you are taking. Give your brain a daily workout with the cross-word or Sudoku to stimulate it and take memory supplements to get the blood flowing.

Vitamins for brain can support memory, improve concentration and overall cognitive performance by aiding the circulation of blood and oxygen to the brain which helps remove unwanted toxins. Visit http://www.goodelements.com for high-quality supplements to promote optimal health.

Photographic Memory : Ten Approaches To Enhance Your Memory

Article by Patrick Collien

Wouldn’t it be great never ever to forget significant meetings? Picture for a second rarely forgetting anniversaries as well as appointments. Unfortunately, not everyone has a photographic memory. The beneficial news is that everybody can improve their memory. We are able to boost our memory beyond our imagination! Here are ten steps you’ll be able to perform to begin your own journey to a superior memory.

1. Starting out, you have to tell your self your memory can enhance. Too numerous folks concentrate on how awful their memory is. Way too numerous people remind themselves over and over again that their memory is horrible. Well, guess what happens? Your memory will likely be! Don’t keep reminding yourself your memory is not good. Never ever mention things like ‘I will never remember’ or ‘I will never be able to remember that’. Believe that your memory is great. Convince yourself that it can improve! How? Simply by telling yourself that your memory is improving. Each and every single day once you wake up and before you go to bed, tell yourself that your memory is improving. That the brain workouts you are executing are helping significantly.

2. It is critical that you carry out your brain exercises. What? A brain can exercise? Sure, it can and it’s crucial for enhancing your memory. A brain exercise is basically something that makes your brain work tougher than it usually does. Brain workouts range anywhere from something as easy as a Sudouk or perhaps a crossword, to the much more cutting-edge workouts for instance understanding a new musical instrument. You do not need to go out and learn a new instrument to improve your memory (but it would likely do miracles). Performing the simpler tasks for instance Sudokus can go a long way.

3. Exercise regularly. Believe it or not (it’s better in case you do obviously), exercises go a long way if you will be attempting to strengthen your memory. Normal exercise makes you a lot more alert and makes your entire body a lot more efficient (your brain also!). So which exercises are we all talking about? They are everything from sprinting to swimming. Everything that tends to make your heart beat more quickly. It’s encouraged that you workout every day for around 30 minutes.

4. You’re what you eat! If you try to eat healthy foods, your brain will truly grow healthier and stronger (which is of course excellent!). If you’ve got a healthy mind it will operate allot more effectively. And needless to say, a brain that functions much more efficient is superior at storing and remembering data. Consume 5 or 6 smaller dishes each day as opposed to three huge dishes. This will keep a person’s blood sugar at a more consistent degree, which will certainly lead to an improvement in mental performance.

5. It’s absolutely advised to maintain your stress level at the minimum. In case it is at all possible to fully take away stress from your life, all the better. Nevertheless as this is very unlikely, You need to at least decrease it as much as possible. Chronic stress does harm your personal brain, which needless to say is bad with regard to the memory. Just one of the most necessary factors you want to apply in your journey to the best memory you can acquire, is to minimize your stress levels. Do this and you will be on your way to reaching your personal objective.

6. Take your time! The oh so well known sentence ‘I forgot’ is actually pretty frequently misused. Most of the people will never be aware of it, however it is quite typical for individuals that say ‘I forgot’ never to have remembered the content to begin with. Confusing? I will explain.

If you want to recall specific information, you need to remember it. In other words, if you want to remember specific information, you need to store the information first. This is where so many people go wrong. They simply leave it up to their memory, it is after all its job, right? Well, yes. Nevertheless, if you make a conscious act of trying to store information your brain will find it allot easier to recall the specific information. How do you make a conscious effort? It can be something as simple as repeating the sentence mentally.

7. Sleep correctly. It has been known for a long time that correct rest is necessary for keeping a good brain. If we want to gain the very best memory we can, it goes without saying that a healthy brain is the tool we require. It is advised to rest no less than 7 hours a night. If you have got the opportunity, rest for 7.5 hours (as the sleep ‘circle’ takes 1.5 hours).

8. Memorize a full deck of playing cards. This is an additional brain exercise, and a great one as well. Naturally it will be difficult to be able to remember the entire deck of cards straight of the bat. Start off with five playing cards, after that proceed to a greater amount as you get much better. The ultimate aim here is to memorize the whole deck of cards.

9. Memory techniques. There are many, many different techniques you should use to assist you better your memory. By far the most widespread (and extremely efficient) being the association approach. It’s a simple technique, where you associate whatever you’re trying to remember with something vivid (or something you’re familiar with). For example if you want to remember the name Bob, you could see Bob in a construction hat (Bob the builder). See the picture clearly in your mind. The next time you meet Bob, he’ll remind you of the picture, you’ll instantly think Bob the builder and shout ‘Hi Bob!’

10. Stay positive. This may possibly sound far fetched, nonetheless remaining positive makes you more encouraged to work at enhancing your memory. Staying positive will even help you feel you are doing a fantastic job. It’s going to keep you going and you might end up attaining your goals way before you even thought it was possible.

An extra tip. Offer yourself a treat! When you’ve performed a good job. Anytime you’ve worked on your memory, encourage yourself. It’s going to keep you absolutely inspired. Take a hot bath, get a massage, anything! Every little thing helps!

Vitamins : Can Vitamins Really Help Treat Acne?

Article by Rebecca Prescott

The more successful natural acne treatments primarily work by reducing the inflammation associated with breakouts. Yet vitamins and minerals don’t work via this mechanism. Does this mean they aren’t really effective in healing pimples, pustules, and zits?

Excess vitamins, with the exception of the fat soluble vitamins (A, D and E), are eliminated from the body. The fat soluble vitamins are stored in the body, and can have serious side effects, particularly vitamin A. The water soluble vitamins can also cause unpleasant and sometimes dangerous side effects, which is a problem with one popular vitamin related treatment for acne, the B5 acne program. However, vitamins and minerals are needed for the health of the skin, our hormonal balance, and a strong immune system. These things all have an impact on acne, so it’s important to make sure you’re at least getting the recommended daily allowance of vitamins.

Vitamin A, and the B vitamins, all have important roles in the health of the skin. Vitamin A strengthens the skin, and a deficiency can lead to acne. However, it is important to note that an excess of this vitamin can also create pimples. Too much vitamin A can be dangerous, especially for pregnant women, who should not take more than 10,000 IU a day. Others can take up to 25,000 IU daily, and this is indeed recommended for treating acne.

Other side effects of vitamin A overdose include nausea, itchiness, irritability, vomiting, headaches, menstrual problems, and dizziness. Long term vitamin A overdose can lead to liver damage, pain in the muscles and bone, and headaches. Some people can have symptoms at a lower dose than 15,000 to 25,000 IU, so this should be monitored if you’re taking these levels of vitamin A.

The B vitamins are all important for healthy skin tone, though several are recommended for acne sufferers. These are vitamin B3 (100 mg three times a day), vitamin B6 (50 mg three times a day), and vitamin B5 (50 mg three times a day). If you are taking any B vitamins separately, it’s recommended that you take a B complex, as this group work together and taking some without the others can result in a deficiency of some B vitamins. The B vitamins also help with the effects of stress, which can be important for acne sufferers.

Vitamin E is excellent for speeding up the healing process, due to its antioxidant capacity. It also helps with the absorption of vitamin A. The suggested amount is 400 IU daily.

Vitamin C with bioflavanoids is the only vitamin that has an anti-inflammatory effect. It also helps with skin healing, and gives the immune system a boost. Try 3000 to 5000 mg spread throughout the day.

Zinc is an important mineral that has helped control pimples. For zinc acne information, click here. Rebecca runs this acne and rosacea site.

Improve Short And Long Term Memory – Eliminate Test Anxiety

Many bright schoolchildren get classroom grades that really do not appear to indicate their intellect. These kids do their schoolwork, work hard in the classroom, but still get lousy test grades. Parents typically misinterpret lousy scores on exams as failure to study and prepare, but this usually is not accurate. Often, test anxiety is a primary reason for low grades.

Young people who experience test anxiety typically study in private until they know the information to be tested backwards and forwards. However, when walking into the classroom and take their seats, their thoughts freeze. They are unable to recall the information that, just before, was clear to them. They experience performance anxiety, and are able to concentrate nothing but the possibility of failure.

Hypnosis to improve memory and recall has been successful in teaching parents assist their children in conquering test anxiety. Usual methods, including self-hypnosis memory improvement, may work well for older children who are not extremely analytical or critical thinkers. These therapies, which can help students to improve memory and recall and lessen their anxiety about testing, are easy to find.

Those children who are inquiring and bright, however, often struggle with using standard types of hypnosis to improve memory and recall. This is because they question ideas and attempt to comprehend techniques including self-hypnosis memory improvement. Such students will frequently benefit much more from complex strategies such as Ericksonian hypnosis or even Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP for test anxiety.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming for test anxiety utilizes a number of basic behaviors to help the brain to perform a complicated job. One of the NLP methods taught to students is a technique called anchoring. Through this process, people are instructed to recall a time when they felt a sense of achievement and positive self-image. As they mentally re-create those emotions, they are instructed to touch two fingers together during the experience of those emotions. This forms an anchor (or trigger) for the emotions.

After the clients have been successful in installing an anchor for self-esteem, they are instructed to visualize themselves taking a test. As they construct this mental picture, they learn to trigger this positive self-image anchor by touching the two fingers together once more. The unconscious then connects the thoughts of positive self-image and achievement to the action of taking a test. The final outcome is that people feel a lot more positive about their capability to take tests, which helps them develop a high anticipation of success. This allows them to feel calm through the testing procedure, so they are able to easily remember information.

Through this process, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and memory recall approaches help students to maximize their focus even in tough circumstances such as test-taking. Neuro-Linguistic Programming for test anxiety allows the client to become calmer and focus on recalling the facts they have learned. This assists them to remember the information that they learned so completely.

An additional option for using Neuro-Linguistic Programming for test anxiety is to teach the “Flash” method. Young people receive instruction on using this method to decrease anxiety and stress. With help, they learn to instruct their mental processes to automatically swap anxiety-producing thoughts for relaxing thoughts. Soon, people who utilize Neuro-Linguistic Programming for test anxiety find that it becomes almost impossible to concentrate on anxiety-producing thoughts because their thoughts automatically flash them away for relaxing ideas instead!

A combination of NLP and memory recall techniques may quite helpful in calming test anxiety, as well as increasing mental recall. Using Neuro-Linguistic Programming for test anxiety, as well as mental recall, encourages children to optimize their capability to recall and absorb more information. This can be very in an age of “information overload.”

In today’s world, people’s lives are attacked routinely with facts from television, radio, websites, family, friends, magazines and newspapers. As students spend their entire days in classrooms, they are even more likely to have this difficulty. Strategies like Neuro-Linguistic Programming for test anxiety are also used to allow them to stay relaxed and manage this deluge of data. NLP and memory improving tools assist them to center on crucial facts, and to recall it instead of the overflow of trivial facts that goes with it.

Young people who are successful in implementing Neuro-Linguistic Programming for test anxiety also benefit from using these strategies for reducing stress and increasing their focus in a number of areas of their lives. For example, NLP and memory tools can assist people to recall names or memorable dates or events. Often, older kids who have tried Neuro-Linguistic Programming for test anxiety relay that these beneficial approaches greatly improve the quality of their career and and family lives as well.

Parents who develop concern about their child’s struggles with test grades and overall educational outcome can consider the effectiveness of Neuro-Linguistic Programming for test anxiety. These strategies are very successful for the majority of bright young people who suffer from this problem. Moreover, concerned parents can utilize NLP and memory recall tools to assist their children prepare more effectively to start their careers.

Summary: Neuro-Linguistic Programming for test anxiety helps young people to focus better and improve test scores. NLP and memory improvement strategies also help people in a variety of other aspects of life, including work and friendship settings. You can search for a local trained NLP Practitioner who can help your child with Neuro-Linguistic Programming for test anxiety. Another method, however, that is considerably less costly and quite as effective to invest in one of the excellent NLP and hypnosis programs currently available on CD.

Vitamins : Quick And Easy Facts To Enrich Vitamin Information

Article by Mario Churchill

Let’s see: all you know about vitamins are that they’re good for the body, and that you can either obtain them from eating foods rich in vitamins or by taking supplements. That’s correct in a sense, but what you know is far from being able to paint the whole picture about vitamins. If you want to get healthy and fit, you have to update the vitamin information database inside your head and live accordingly.

The Definition and Function of VitaminsMedically speaking, vitamin is made up of two words: vital amine, and it is an organic substance or compound which has a catalytic function in causing certain essential chemical reactions in the body. In simpler terms, vitamins make good things happen inside the body more quickly and with less energy spent. Without vitamins, the human body has a hard time making those reactions happen, and this could result to a partial or total breakdown of the whole system.

Types of VitaminsFat Soluble – There are four vitamins that fall under this category and they are vitamins A, D, E, and K. All four vitamins are stored in reserve inside the liver and the body’s fatty tissues. They are released when they need to perform a special rescue function for the body.

Water Soluble – These are external vitamins that enter the body when it consumes fruits and vegetable, both of which these vitamins can be found. The various sub-vitamins under Vitamin B as well as Vitamin C all belong to this group. These vitamins are distributed throughout in the body. Excesses are flushed out through urine, but vitamin B12, which includes cobalamin, biotin, folic acid, and pantothenic acid, continue to stay inside the liver.

Planning for a Vitamin-Rich DietThe following foods are what you have to eat if you wish for a vitamin-rich diet:

Vitamin A – Known as the vitamin that greatly enhances your eyesight (vision and color-wise), Vitamin A has other special functions like aiding physical growth – which is critical during your childhood to teenage years – and helping you to have and maintain glowing skin. Vitamin A can be found in foods like milk, carrots, and spinach.

Vitamin B – The largest group of vitamins, Vitamin B, facilitates your body’s metabolism. It also boosts your energy levels and help in the production of red blood cells (RBC). Vitamin B can be found also in milk (now you know why you have to drink plenty glasses of milk in the past), oranges, beans, leafy greens, whole grain bread, and even seafood.

Vitamin C – If you have a lot of Vitamin C in your body, don’t be surprised when your wounds and illnesses heal more quickly than most because that’s just one of the functions it performs. Oranges are the most popular provider of Vitamin C, but you can also get it from eating strawberries and broccoli.

Vitamin D – This vitamin is the partner of calcium in helping your bones – and teeth – stay healthy and strong. It can be found in fish, egg yolks, and surprise, surprise, milk as well!

Vitamin E – This particular vitamin is important for everyone because it keeps the tissues in your sensory organs as well as in other parts of the body healthy and strong. Like Vitamin B, it helps in the production of RBCs. Vitamin E can be found in certain vegetables as well as sardines and whole wheat breads.

Vitamin K – Lastly, Vitamin K is what helps your blood to clot together every time you get a wound. It can be found in pork and yes, milk.

Short Term Memory : How Your Memory Works and What You Can Do To Improve It Dramatically

Article by Rod Bremer

Upon experiencing a particular sensation, be it a pleasurable sound, sight or smell, the stimuli is flashed in the sensory regions of the brain. If the brain focused on the stimuli consciously, mainly due to the activity in the thalamus, the sensations registered are then transferred to short term memory storage in the cerebral cortex.

The information that is stored in short term memory is simply a collection of electrochemical connections between neurons. In order to make a permanent imprint into long term memory, it is necessary for the connections to remain during the transfer between the short term memory regions of the brain to the long term memory regions of the brain. This transfer process is largely driven by the hippocampus and it was shown that sleep plays a major role in this consolidation. Furthermore, recent studies employing neuroimaging suggest that certain brain activation patterns during sleep appear to be identical to those observed during the learning session that preceded it- propounding that the brain automatically performs a certain type of repetition during sleep in order to consolidate the memory.

To consciously keep the electrochemical connections active whilst the transfer between short to long term memory is taking place, requires a strategy- it commonly involves:

a.Repetition- which re-enforces the electrochemical connections.b.Analysis- which forces one to create a logical link to information that is already in long term storage.c.Emotional reaction- the pathways are encoded much more strongly as the emotional response is included in the registered sensation.d.Mnemonic- an artificial link that tricks the brain into remembering, frequently combining the 3 factors above to provide a more powerful encoding approach.

These methods stimulate the frontal lobes and cause a protein synthesis in the neural connections which then fixes the information in long term storage.

The education system tends to focus on using Repetition and Analysis though with some experimentation it becomes evident that these methods are slow and dull- thus making the whole learning experience sub-optimal and less enjoyable.

Mnemonics and memory systems have been used to assist learning as far back as the days of Simonides of Ceos and possibly even before that in ancient Egypt. The techniques have evolved substantially over time and applications were developed to suite new data types; however, the underlying principles remain the same. The key to such systems is to use creativity and imagination in a very specific manner- combining information that is unknown with something that is already known. The technique demonstrated below is the most basic application of such systems yet it is extremely powerful and effective. For a complete treatment of the topic, with a wide variety of modern application, the reader is recommended to read The Manual- A guide to the Ultimate Study Method by Rod Bremer. The topic of memory is covered in depth with techniques ranging from Mathematics, Vocabulary, Computer coding and all the way to Chess and Wine collection.

As an example, say one wishes to apply the memory principles to remember foreign language vocabulary. The steps of the technique are as follows:

1.Convert the foreign language word to something you can visualise- this involves finding a similar sounding word (or words) that you already know.2.Convert the translation word into an item you can visualise- if it is an object then this is easy, if it not, one can find a similar sounding word as above or use an object that reminds you of the word.3.Then in your mind’s eye, combine the two images using exaggeration or nonsensical action- the key here is to make the resulting image something absurd that you would not expect to encounter in reality.

Example:

The Chinese word for Apple is píng guǒ;

1.The Chinese word can be substituted with “Ping Goal”- “Ping” can be visualised as a Ping-Pong ball whilst “Goal” can be visualised as a soccer goal.2.The translation word, apple, is simple to visualise- just think of the last time you have eaten this fruit.3.To combine the images, begin by visualising a gigantic green apple (try to sense how crunchy it feels); then proceed by visualising that apple on a soccer field kicking a Ping Pong ball and scoring a Goal. Exaggerate the image making sure that the apple and the ping pong ball are out of proportion compared to the way that they exist in reality. Hold that image in your mind, ensuring colour and feelings are incorporated into the scene; it should be an image that arouses emotion- in the example above it should make you lightly amused or even laugh.

In order to recall the information, all that is required is that you let the image pop to your mind as you hear either the foreign word or its translation. For instance, as you are crossing China-Town you hear a street vendor calling out “píng guǒ”, what image comes to your mind? If you followed the steps above you should see an apple kicking the ping pong ball- thus reminding you that the meaning of píng guǒ is apple.

This is a very fast, simple, enjoyable and effective way of instantly storing new information. With some modifications, these simple concepts can be applied to memorizing any type of information.

Rod Bremer is the author of The Manual- A guide to the Ultimate Study Method. The Ultimate Study Method (USM) is an accelerated learning system which uses Speed Reading, Deep Concentration Methods, Memory Systems and Optimal Note-Taking- all combined into a 5-step procedure allowing the practitioner to learn any topic fast and effectively with long-term recall.

The word pork denotes specifically the fresh meat of the pig that is left unsalted, but it is often mistakenly used as an all-inclusive term which includes cured, smoked, or processed meats. It is also a common ingredient in sausages. Pork is a terrific source of several vitamins and minerals. That’s right, everything from the most common nuts — such as walnuts, hazelnuts, cashews and almonds — to the more exotic seeds and nuts can clear up that “brain fog” and enable you to think clearer and be happier than you ever imagined. Both figuratively and literally speaking, walnuts are “brain food.” Nuts such as almonds and walnuts are great brain supplements as they contain omega fatty acids that are important in brain function. These nuts also contain high nitric oxide that helps to stimulate healthy blood flow, and any form of healthy blood flow is definitely good for your brain.

3. EggsEaster eggs aren’t just tons of fun for kids to dye: The yolks are packed with the nutrient choline, critical during your child’s first six years to ensure full development of the brain’s memory center. Choline also helps your brain get fired up for high level thinking through increasing neuron firing. The best forms of eggs are the Organic eggs because they contain the highest level of choline.

4. Red berries Red berries, such as raspberries, cherries and strawberries have high quantities of polyphenols that helps in controlling the hormones in your brain. Eating more and more red berries, your hormones will be under control and you can curb your cravings for healthier food.

5. Blue and black berries

To serve a different purpose, blue and black berries are also beneficial. Blue and black berries contain omega fatty acids just as nuts, and can be treated as a replacement of nuts. Be sure to be eating the berries directly rather than consuming blueberry or blackberry juice, as consuming juices will raise your sugar intake to unnatural levels.

Our brains are like any other muscles in our body — we need to use them or we lose them. How to Improve Brain Power

Working constantly on increasing our brain power is a toppic that should be highly relevant to everbody. Sooner or later we will start to experience the deterioration of our brain and it will come at the most inconvenient moment. Guys forgetting the names of girls they went out with a few months back and bumping into them suddenly on the street, having to take down a number digit by digit rather than in chunks or forgetting your friend/partners birthday. The first thing we need to realise is that like with any skill, we are going to need some time before we see any real improvements. The improvement is probably going to be so gradual that we will most likely not notice how we get better. Here are some things you can do to get the ball rolling or the cogs turning.

Play games: The first thing that may jump to mind is things like trivia games. This is a great start but will only focus on improving your long term memory and recalling ability. However you can also have a go at things like crosswords, sudokus and other puzzles that focus on solving problems. Heck, you might even want to go through your multiplication tables again.

As you might have already guessed, the tougher the problem is set, the more our brain must work at finding the solution and thus the more it will find itself having to improve to get up to the standard of what is required of it. Chess and similar board games are a great means of coming up with strategy, thinking ahead and adapting to and ever changing problem. However there are also many video games on each of the imagineable consoles that focus on problems that make you rack your brain. There are even loads of apps you can download onto your smartphone.

Use both hands or feet: Left handed people used to be forced to write with their right hand in schools when fountain pens were used so as not to smudge the ink on the paper.

This made those individuals have to work their brains harder for a while in order to get up to speed with their right hand and thus gave them the boost they needed to spread the myth that left handed people are smarter on average. Since the ball point pen we can be sure that it is no longer a reason to validate the myth but it goes to show how working at a skill as easy to practice as using your less favoured limb will help you develop your brain to a greater extent.

Test the unknown: As we repeat the same experiences over and over again, we submt our brain to monotony which leads to laziness. A brain that is constantly challenged frequently will develop more connections to the different parts of it to categorize the things we detect with our senses. Knowing this, try giving your senses a run for their money by tasting new foods, smelling unknown odours, hearing alternative music, experiencing new textures and seeing unusual sights.
