Any activity that is related with our mind pertains to memory and the activity involves recalling of any information that is learned or experienced. Our memory can either be long term or short term. It is said to be long term memory if the information are retained for a long period of time. For the short term memory, the information will stay in your mind within minutes or even with a few seconds.Aside from regular brain exercise, consider the following basic things to further improve the retention of your memory. You have to practice to be always attentive; solicit information on how to improve further the learning style that you have; involve your other senses as much as possible to enhance your memory; relate your gathered information to what you already know; organize the information that you had gathered; understand and at the same time practice interpreting complex problems; rehearse the information then learn from it; and always have a positive mind and keep motivated.

Therefore in every meal know the active ingredients of those foods that you are eating because this will affect your memory. Choose the foods that are high in antioxidants because aside from boosting our immune system, antioxidants are also good enhancers on our brain activity because these help the oxygen in circulating to our body. Vitamin C helps prevent health condition that leads to memory loss while Vitamins B12 and B6 protects the nervous system. Consider eating more on fishes, vegetables, and berries because these are brain boosters.
First, you have to eat more fatty fish because these are very rich in omega 3 oils that help improve our memory. Omega 3 also reduces the occurrence of infection and inflammation of our cells the ends with memory loss. The fatty fish that are good source of this are salmon and sardines. Therefore, you have to eat not less than 3 servings of fish per week to have an improved memory.
Increase your intake of vegetables especially those dark and leafy ones. Make sure to eat this right after you cook or blanch. You have to avoid overcooking it so that the vitamins and other nutrients will not escape. Also try the spinach in favour of folic acid which is good for the brain. Onions is also recommended because of its fisetin content for this is good for long term retention of memory.
The strawberries and blueberries have very high nutrients to enhance our memory. Strawberry is very good for improving our long term memory while blueberries are for persons with heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. The other foods that are known to be memory foods are tomatoes, peaches, apples, grapes, oranges and many more.
