Have you ever wondered how you can actually increase your brain power without having to spend a lot of cash on seminars and personal mentoring? Well now you can – because you don’t have to spend a lot of money just to boost your brain power.
Everything you need to increase your brain’s capacity to process information and recall facts is already within reach. You just have to know the strategies that will help you achieve your goals. Below are some excellent strategies that will help you accomplish your brain-boosting goals:
Brain power tips
Be more creative and express yourself in different ways – The human brain has two main divisions that represent two very distinct thinking centers: the creative center and the logic center.
The logic center of the brain is often used for problem solving, rationalizing, etc. while the creative center is used primarily for self-expression.
Most of the time, people overuse their logic centers while completely ignoring their creative sides. It’s fine if you work in an environment that requires you to use your logic center more (i.e. you’re a computer programmer or mathematician); however, you still need to balance your use of both sides of the brain so your brain power won’t take a hit.
The easiest way to stimulate your creative center is by engaging in music, art, and writing. These three activities should be enough for anyone because once you start on just one of these activities, I’m sure your days and nights will be filled with pure personal enjoyment, and more importantly, brain challenges in the form learning how to do things right.
For example, if you want to learn how to sketch realistic human figures, you have to learn how to draw accurate lines on paper.
All that effort challenges the brain, and the brain responds by increasing the number of connections it has.
Don’t settle for plain, ordinary solutions – We live in a society that values instant gratification. Now I’m not saying that there’s anything wrong with this type of thinking, all I’m saying is that if you settle for quick fixes and plain solutions each and every time, your mind will stagnate and you will feel uncreative and unmotivated.
This is the reason why you should always try to arrive at more creative solutions to problems. It’s not that you don’t want to solve your issues or problems with time-tested solutions; you can apply those solutions, but you can think of novel solutions at the same time. Spark those neurons and brain cells!
Challenge your beliefs – Each person has a comfort zone. It’s time to step out of this comfort zone so you can begin learning new things. For example, if you believe that sports aren’t right for you at all, maybe it’s time that you tried badminton or swimming. Who knows? You may have been holding yourself back just because you were afraid that people won’t appreciate your athletic ability. Why not prove them wrong by challenging yourself today?

Your brain is an incredible machine that is capable of far more than you give it credit for. Like any other muscle, the brain needs regular exercise to help it grow and function more effectively.
Here are a few effective steps to get you started on increasing your brain power:
Reduce your sugar intake. The sugar in your body causes insulin to flow through your blood stream to offset the effect of the sugar. This can cloud your thoughts and make it more difficult to think clearly.Exercise. Regular exercise is just as good for your brain as it is for the rest of your body. Even just a few minutes a day of getting the blood pumping is enough to improve brain functioning.Eat antioxidant rich food. Antioxidants play a major role in protecting the body’s cells, including brain cells. Foods high in antioxidants include many types of fruit and vegetables, such as, grapefruit, pineapple, berries, spinach, red cabbage, and Brussels sprouts. Take multi-vitamin tablets. It’s often difficult for most people to stick to a balanced diet, so taking a multi-vitamin tablet daily will help your brain, as well as body, receive those vital vitamins and nutrients it requires.Listen to classical music. Studies have shown that listening to classical music whilst studying can improve a student’s exam results. Some expectant mothers have also been known to play a bit of Mozart to their child whilst it grows in the womb!Engage your brain. It makes sense that to develop your brain requires using it. Exercise the brain by regularly giving it a mental workout. This could be any number of challenges, such as learning a new language, taking evening classes, or even just doing the daily crossword puzzle. Relax. Modern life is hectic, which can make it difficult to think straight at times. Making time to relax, whether that be soaking in the bath, listening to music or sitting in the park will help clear your thoughts. It is also vitally important to get plenty of quality sleep, as it will allow the brain to process all the day’s thoughts and recharge itself.
These steps are excellent ways to start increasing your brain’s power, but if you would like to take it even further, visiting Ultimate Brain Power will open up a whole new level of potential.
Why bother with brain training? Why wouldn’t you bother with brain training? I believe that life is 90% mind set and as a result, if I could only train one thing it would be my brain. Our brain controls all our muscles, organs, it releases chemicals (that have long complex names) that control your feeling, it governs our perception of the world and there for our experience. Really life could even be 100% mindset, let’s stick to 90% for now.
As I have mentioned in my other articles on Life Coaching, Mind development and so on, I’m in life for a feeling, the feeling I enjoy the most is harmony. My definition of harmony is Feeling at peace with who I am being right now and therefore knowing that tomorrow will look after its self. When I am feeling harmony the whole world around benefits as a result. More than just my selfishness of wanting to feel good myself, at the same time want others to feel good and I have found that just like laughter, feelings spread. I would much rather spread harmony, happiness and love than fear anger and frustration.
I have trained my brain in many different ways over the years and I use this article as a medium to share my knowledge and experience to benefit you. I have completed memory courses, studied Christian philosophy, the yogi philosophy which both in their own ways convey ways, means and techniques to bring the mind body and sprit into harmony. And I say it in that order because I think unless your brain is geared in a way that is open and willing to learn and on top that able to process thoughts, feelings and emotions, you will be increasing limited to what you can experience on all levels.
I’d like to be able to say that I have the answer to solve everyones problems, “Here is my 14 step program to be perfect”.
For starters perfect in my opinion is an imagery state of being that humans have created. My approach rather than trying to “fix” people I teach people to be first content with what you have and to use what you have to the best of your ability, whilst being open to grow and learn.
I have spent many years of my life doing carpentry and there is no one tool that I can use to build and entire house. I can’t built an house with a hammer alone or just a saw I require several tools and even then what if someone wants a full brick home then my hammer and saw aren’t needed. When someone wants a full brick home I can choose to learn how to lay bricks or I can call in a brick layer. Either way I will be grateful that I can still do the doors and windows of the house and I will work with the brick layer to learn more about laying bricks because I like learning and increasing my skills. Which I now know is growth and half of the journey of being fulfilled.
One thing I have found that works for the majority of people that have done it for a period time… if you want to feel harmony, content, peaceful, fulfilled or the like give and grow in all area of your life.
A model for training the brain in any area that I have found endlessly useful is what I call the 4 Habit Model
Sub consciously incompetent – I don’t know that what I’m doing that isn’t working
Consciously incompetent – I know that what I’m doing isn’t working
Consciously competent – I now have change and concisely chose to do something that works for me
Sub consciously competent – I do what works for me without even thinking about it
I will give you an example of how I trained my brain with this tool. I decided that I wanted to give more smiles to people, because when people have smiled at me or made an extra effort to make me smile when I’m having a tough day, I really appreciate it, then in return I want to give that experience to others. Let’s apply this to the 4 Habit Model
Sub consciously incompetent – I didn’t know that wasn’t smiling as much as I could.
Consciously incompetent – I knew that I wasn’t smiling as much as I could.
Consciously competent – I now choose consciously to smile at people more often.
Sub consciously competent – I now smile almost all the time without even thinking about it.
I now have created a habit where I smile at almost every body. Does that work HELL YES!! I have increased my happiness because I smile more and smiles release those feel good chemicals. I help others increase their happiness by sharing a smile and then I feel even happier because I have helped brighten someone else’s day. Its good all round. Did this come naturally? No I don’t believe many things do. Let me explain. Most things even like smiling are a learnt habit, we simply forget when we learn it and when do we ever stop to think about it.
In my work as a Life Coach based in sunny Cronulla (Southern Sydney) I help people create the habits that work for them on a sub conscious level. I trust you have enjoyed and learnt something from this article. There are 4 more in this series or if you would like to find out more check out my website.

Much of a brain cell’s structure is made up of what are called “healthy fats”. The most important of these are the Omega-3 fatty acids. As your brain repairs itself and grows new neurons, it needs an abundant supply of Omega-3s from your diet.
The brain is the largest user of oxygen of all the different organs so any change in blood flow to the brain quickly effects its ability to function. Reducing fats is important in keeping those arteries free. In fact, researchers have noted that reduced blood flow is a contributing factor in cognitive decline in older people. Protecting your blood supply to the brain is critical in keeping function longer as you age.
Fish, for example, especially salt-water fish, is a good source of iodine. Before iodine was routinely added to salt, many people who lived inland lacked this mineral in their diets. This often caused a condition called goiter, where the thyroid gland enlarges and production of the thyroid hormone, thyroxine, decreases. Thyroxine is necessary for proper mental function. When a person who suffered from iodine deficiency ate fish, the thyroid was stimulated into producing more of the essential hormone. The person usually became alert and able to think clearly.
Vitamins and minerals are the building blocks of your brain. The brain needs a sufficient amount of Vitamins C, B12 and B6. Citrus fruits and cranberries are rich in Vitamin C. Vitamin B6 can be found in ready-to-eat cereals, potatoes and beans such as garbanzos. Vitamin B12 is especially important because it keeps nerve cells healthy and active. Liver, beef and seafood such as mollusks provide a healthy dose of Vitamin b12.
This is the most important thing for a person to be able to have a sensible and in the right frame of mind.
The relativity is very great that we should always think twice about the food that we are going to eat. If you do not know or does not have an inkling of that kind of food that you should eat, I will give you some advice that would surely become an eye opener to you. So, here is the list of food that you should eat and put together in your menu.
Fats are not totally villains, they are actually good guys when it comes to your brain. They are especially important and useful to Neurons. Fats made up about 33% of your brain. And we are talking here about good fats – fatty acids which your brain needs to perform complex, intricate functions properly.
Wild Salmon – Fish has long been known to be a great brain food choice. Wild salmon is probably the best choice of all because it is one of the best sources of Essential Fatty Acids, particularly Omega-3 without the contamination found in many species of deep sea fish. Some farm raised salmon is beneficial depending on the source but you really need to be careful. Other good seafood choices are sardines and smelts, both small fish with small livers that limit the amounts of mercury they can store.
Your brain food supplements should consist of fish, which is rich in DHA-omega-3 fatty acids that are very essential for the brain synapses and insufficient or lack of this nutrient hampers the intellect and can cause the onset of Dementia. And strict vegetarians can consume pumpkin seeds, flax seeds or walnuts that also contain omega-3 fatty acids. Eggs contain choline that is supposedly good for improving your memory.

Healthy eating and physical fitness go together, but there are no magic foods that cause you to be one hundred percent healthy by just eating the one food. No, you need a variety of foods from each of these food groups each day. It’s also important to watch the portion size so as not to overeat. Make your mealtimes pleasant and relaxed occasions and your healthy foods will work effectively with your healthy emotions to give you a healthy body.
Berries
You may like all types of berries or just one or two favorites, but you can never go wrong by adding a few fresh berries as a quick energy snack or frozen berries made into a luscious smoothie in place of calorie laden desserts. Berries are high in vitamin C across the board, but some are high in other nutrients as well. Choose ripe blueberries for vitamin C and heaps of anti-oxidants for the health of your circulatory system. Gogi berries are less well-known but are wonderfully rich in many of the nutrients your body needs to be nutritionally and physically fit.
Citrus
The foods of the citrus family are widely recognized as a valuable source of vitamin C. Choose fully ripe citrus fruits for the best nutritional value and choose citrus as near to the tree as possible. Tree ripened fruits picked at the peak of perfection and consumed with hours of picking give you the top nutritional rating. Try grapefruit for breakfast. Add a dash of fresh squeezed lime to your salad as a dressing and enjoy slices of orange with coconut in a light honey dressing for dessert.
Vegetables
The variety of vegetables is amazing. For people who are vegetarian or vegan, choosing vegetables to be part of a nutritionally sound diet is a way of life. Your vegetable group provides many of the minerals required in a good diet. For example, you may realize that potassium is necessary for healthy nutrition. Many people claim the benefits of potassium found in a single banana. But did you know, you can also get adequate potassium in your diet by eating a stalk of broccoli? Try a salad of fresh young spinach topped with pine nuts and stirred with lightly cooked penne’. Feta cheese and a light vinaigrette dressing to create the perfect light luncheon meal.
Whole Grains
Like many other of the best foods, choosing only one type of whole grain for your meals doesn’t provide all the variety you need to be nutritionally sound. Often, mixing two or more whole grains together will give you complete proteins. For example, brown rice and wheat kernels with a spicy seasoning are a popular dish in many countries.
Salmon
Salmon is lean fish and nutritionally one of the best fish choices. It is rich in Omega-3 oils that are noted as helping improve the functioning of the brain. Salmon baked whole with just lemon or lime as a seasoning makes a fantastic main dish or a hearty luncheon featured menu item. Salmon is also commonly found in chilled seafood dishes.
Legumes
A legume is the name for a variety of fruits with a single dry seed. Legumes are sometimes called pods. Examples of edible legumes are soybeans, peas, dried beans and peanuts, among others. Legumes are rich in iron and high in fiber, making them excellent nutritional choices. Peanuts are a type of legume that have been used to make hundreds of different products some edible and others with various types of helpful uses.
Nuts and seeds
Nature has packed a lot of goodness into small packages. Most everyone has heard of walnuts and pecans which are very good nutritional products, but did you realize that flax seeds are brain food–containing critical non-meat sources of the Omega-3 oil.
Lean proteins
The keyword here is lean. Americans eat far too much protein compared to the rest of the world. Cut down of portion sizes–three ounces will provide all the needed protein needed for your day. Also, trim all visible fat from your protein source. Alternatively, use non meat substitutes such as the complete proteins found in vegetable dishes like beans and brown rice.
Tea
Depending on the type of tea you prefer, you can get an energy boost from a cup of green tea, or the calming effect of chamomile tea. Get going with mint teas or start your day with Earl Grey Breakfast Tea. Herbal teas are soothing, tasty and good for you. Non herbal teas will help you to stay alert when you need help to function.
Olive oil
Olive oil is probably the healthiest substance you can use to keep fat in your diet. You can use it on your salad, mix it with a little vinegar to create your own, or fry other foods in the hot oil. Just make sure that the temperature is not too hot so that the oil is broken down.

Who wouldn’t like to know and experiment with a natural brain food that could improve the memory power? That is what you will read in this article. If someone tells you that inositol has this power, you should know that it closely works with something else to offer the brain the natural food.
Once you ensure proper digestion of your food thereby providing adequate energy to your body, a major portion of offering natural brain food is complete. The balance is to provide required nutrients to properly nourish the brain which has billions of neurotransmitters.
You would have heard about lecithin. This is used in chocolate as an emulsifier to mix the fat with the water and ensure they are not separated. In the same way, the bile formed in our liver contains lecithin which helps to emulsify with fat so that they are absorbed by the small intestine. In this way, lecithin helps for providing energy and also for proper digestion.
It is not that the lecithin as such does this. The important component of lecithin known as choline is responsible for this job.
Choline is an essential nutrient. It is an organic compound. It is water soluble. Apart from the above digestion job, it has another important function.
Choline is a building block of acetylcholine. This chemical carries messages between nerve cells. It helps to transmit nerve impulses in the brain. The brain uses this chemical for controlling memory, heart rate, sweating etc.
You will be wondering why we discuss more of lecithin and choline instead of inositol. There is a reason. Now that you understand the importance of choline, you would like to ensure that they are adequately found in your body.
But the issue here is that the choline is not synthesized adequately by the body. Unless we find something else to boost the production of lecithin, quantity of choline cannot be increased in our body.
Inositol is the naturally occurring nutrient which closely works with choline. Also it effectively promotes the production of lecithin in the body. That is why it is considered a natural brain food.
Choline is sold separately as a nutritional supplement. If you smell fishy odour near someone, know that he takes choline supplement more than what is required. You should know that by increasing the choline content you are not going to increase your memory power. But if it is less, definitely it affects the brain power.
Cereals, kidney beans, orange and cantaloupes are good source of inositol, a natural brain food. While it is always better to go in for natural food, the problem is with reference to the quantum of intake and consequent nutrition content.
There are natural nutrition supplements that can solve your problem. But not all of them though they claim so. It is important that they are made out of GMP compliant facilities with high quality standards. I know for sure, a fantastic natural nutrition supplement product that has inositol derived from rice bran. Since this nutrition supplement has 70+ nutrition ingredients with appropriate measures including inositol, a natural brain food you are guaranteed an optimal intake. I have been using this product for a long time and found very promising.
You should visit my website to know more about such unique nutrition information for a healthy life.

Lifestyle Director and Licensed Dietitian Kate Comeau for ATP Nutrition, explains what makes brain food great for your overall health and what they consist o…
Many of us are obsessed about what is in what we eat. We spend a good amount of time at the cereals aisle of the supermarket, comparing boxes and reading the nutritional labels. Normally, we’d go for the box which has the longer list, because it makes the cereal look and sound “more” nutrient-filled. If you are one of those people, kudos! You are well aware of your body’s needs. However, it is equally important to feed your brain right, as it is after all, your ‘central processing unit’. The brain, being the center of our nervous system, requires high-quality nutrients for it to function at its best. Here are a few of what you can look for in nutritional labels to ensure your brain’s optimum processes. Fortunately, many of these are also available as dietary supplements.
A. Electrolytes
Electrolytes, which are crucial for conducting electricity in the body, come in the form of minerals such as sodium, chloride, magnesium, potassium and the like. The wellness and ability of nerves to send electric signals depend greatly on the presence, and balance of these electrolytes. For instance, too much salt (sodium) and very less potassium in the body can result in the body’s slow reaction to signals. Because an excessive intake of salt in the body can be detrimental to all its functions, it is best to choose natural, unprocessed foods over sodium and preservative-laden foods. Simply put, the amount of salt in canned meat, preserved vegetables, and processed dairy is too much compared to fresh meat, vegetables and fruits. To flavor these, a little table salt to taste proves to be sufficient.
B. Choline
Choline has always been an important part of the diet especially for pregnant women, and children in their early development. Like folic acid, it has been proven to be an essential nutrient that is needed for brain development in fetuses. Human milk has high levels of this nutrient. This is why breastfeeding is encouraged, especially because brain development is most crucial and active within the first few years of life. Recent researches have also been entertaining the possibility that choline may also be crucial in preventing age related memory loss. Choline is readily available in many natural foods, like whole eggs, beef liver, tofu, peanuts, almonds, spinach and cauliflowers. For people who eat very less of these, food supplements with Choline are also popular in the market.
C. B Vitamins
Vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12 are all crucial for brain and nerve function. B1 and B2 assist in the release of glucose into the bloodstream, so that neurons are not “overwhelmed” by too much sugar in the brain. They also help greatly in maintaining and bettering memory. People with low levels of B2 in the body have shown signs of dementia. Vitamin B6 helps in the transportation of essential amino acids to the brain. Vitamin B12 assists in the brain’s utilization of the body’s carbohydrates and proteins. It also protects the nerve cells by helping the production of the myelin sheath. Deficiency of Vitamin B12 has been linked to dementia and depression. Because these conditions are mostly present in the elder generation, elder people are encouraged to increase intake of foods with high levels of the B Vitamins.
D. Antioxidants
Antioxidants are not only beneficial to the brain, but to the entire body as well. They come in the form of Vitamins C and E, which are found in great amounts in the brain and nerves. The brain cells are vulnerable to free radicals because they are made up mostly of unsaturated fat. Free radicals are generally dangerous to the body. They are believed to be the culprits of life – threatening diseases such as cancer. However, when they combine with Vitamin C, these free radicals are neutralized and will no longer pose harm. A daily dose of 500 to 1,500 mg of Vitamin C, and 400 to 800 IU of Vitamin E is recommended for the body and brain’s overall wellness. Because excessive Vitamin C is simply released from the body through the urinary system, taking too much won’t be a concern.

How nice it would be if you could dream of what you want to dream and how you want your dream to progress? This is the phenomenon of lucid dreaming and if you thought that was difficult – then you are wrong. This is quite possible and if you are keen to know how – read on.
Dreaming, waking up, sleeping all events that are controlled by the brain and the brain in turn is controlled by the various frequency levels that operate in and around the physical being. So what are the frequencies that you need to bother about for dreaming or rather lucid dreaming that is even more interesting?
The alpha frequency state is the state when you are very much awake and active. Then you should know of the theta frequency range which is when you are capable of dreaming. Delta frequency prevails when you are fast asleep.
So, when you are sleeping, your brain is in the delta stage and once it reaches a high, it gets into the next frequency level of theta where the process of dreaming begins. These dreams are the ones that you have no control on – so where and how is lucid dreaming possible? Once you reach the theta level, you need to have enough expertise to pick up the alpha frequency whereby you are awake – but immediately you need to drop back to the theta state even before you are fully awake. So what has happened now is that you are awake but you are not!
The truth is that since you went into the alpha frequency state, you did wake up and so did your subconscious, but then since you dropped back into theta you shall continue to dream. Since you are awake and aware of the fact, you realize you are dreaming while you are dreaming and hence you have the power to control this whole activity because of this realization. It is truly a privilege to dream what you want to dream and achieve in your dreams what is not possible in practical life.
Now that you have understood that the whole key to lucid dreaming is the ability to change frequencies, if there is an external stimulator to help, it is definitely good. You can try the Lucid dreaming binaural beat that will help you get to a stage of lucid dreaming easily. It also depends on when you try on this belt for better results. It is most ideal if you wake up from your deep slumber and go back again into the state of blissful sleep while you are on this binaural belt. Your sub conscious will awaken but then since you start sleeping again, you will be able to dream – so you will know you are dreaming, while you are on the job.
Brain Entrainment with binaural beats has been discovered to be an effective way to stimulate the brain using various frequencies that, when listened to with head phones, are delivered differently from one ear to the other. The brain hears the two different frequencies and creates one tone, the tone that you hear.

Now available in the Google Play store, Brainwave a Day is a free Android app created by Transparent- leading developers in the field since well before the current neurotech craze.
True to its title, this app provides a new brain changing experience each day. Users will be guided through a series of expertly crafted audio journeys, showcasing how specific sounds can promote relaxation, motivation, concentration and many other beneficial mindsets.
But its not just “mood music” being used here. All of the audio in Brainwave a Day has been engineered to encourage brainwave entrainment- the ability of electrical signals in the brain to match pace with a steady beat over time, leading to a change in ones state of mind.
The major breakthrough in this app is its use of a patented new technology for brainwave entrainment, created by Transparent and exclusive to their software. With this audio processing method, any music or audio file can be re-engineered to stimulate brain wave activity. This works even without headphones, and allows for very subtle audio pulses that create a highly listenable and enjoyable experience. Direct brainwave stimulation is combined with the inherent emotional effects of music, and the result is a powerful therapeutic tool that is easy to use right from the start.
Before the creation of this new method, the sound effects used for brainwave entrainment could be jarring on the ears, making it difficult for newcomers to adjust. Adam Hewett, co-founder of Transparent, explains that this hindered the recognition of this therapy.
“If you havent heard of audio-based brainwave stimulation, I dont blame you,” Adam said. “We have spent the past 12 years developing ways to make this technology easier for users and therapists. Now were seeing a real boom in the industry. Just look at the number of apps out there. But this is only the beginning- as we continue to perfect the use of music in brainwave stimulation, well see a greater adoption rate and even more research in the area.”
Because this technology is new to many people, Adam and his team made education a top priority for Brainwave a Day.
“We see a strong need to connect users with the significant, peer-reviewed research in this field,” Adam said. “We made an effort to pair a research citation and description with every audio session, so that its easy to understand exactly how and why each experience works.”
For Transparent, bringing their research-driven approach and innovative technology to the app market is just the start. With this experienced developer on board, its guaranteed that this important therapeutic method will continue to adapt and evolve, and that even more powerful applications are on the way for the benefit of clinicians, researchers, and the neuro-enthusiast community worldwide.
Transparent Corporation, founded in 2003, is an international collective of researchers, analysts, engineers and enthusiasts brought together by their common interest in neural stimulation, mental training, and the exploration of human potential. There are two things in this life that many people do not know about their own brain. One of them is the fact that there are two aspects of consciousness that are actively ‘aware’ on a daily basis. One of them is the conscious mind, rife with all the defences of logical thought, rational processes and critical thinking – which allow us to go through life not reacting to everything based on emotion. This job is left up entirely to the subconscious mind; a part of us since we were born that takes orders from experiences and associations to determine our reactions, our phobias and who we are as individuals.
These two form a symbiotic and separate existence – yet they cannot function without another and through the various stages of life, each aspect of these consciousnesses has taken on a role. In our early childhood, the subconscious mind took the place of educator and learner, where we as children would understand events and happenings around us through emotion and association, the two main pillars of function within the subconscious mind.
As we get older, our conscious mind began to develop the functions of critical thinking and rationale thought, which meant we were able to dissect experiences with logical thought and understand them with a detached learning. While emotion and association will always be there, the effect will not be as a strong as it was before. However, all the associations, fears and phobias (and other character developments) that has happened during childhood has retained and will pass on through adulthood as it maintains its cyclic life cycle within the brain’s subconscious memory and instruction banks.
The other thing that we do not know about our brain is that it produces patterns based on electromagnetic frequencies that sensitive equipment can pick up easily. These brainwave patterns have been found by medicine and science to be associated with several peak performances of the brain, which can include better learning, higher creativity, mental focus, relaxation, accelerated healing, growth hormone level increases. These are just some of the applications of specific brainwave frequencies and they can be evoke with entrainment technology like engineered sub sonic sound or through visual stimulation like the dream machine.
The applications within the personal development industry have been enormous and the responses to this product have reached monumental levels. Thousands of people all over the world are gaining better brain power through the use of brainwave entrainment technology. More and more research is being pumped into the brainwave entrainment technology and as of now, the most popular form of the technology is CDs that use engineered sounds embedded into relaxing music to evoke a cortical response within the brain and align the two hemispheres to a frequency that is desired.
Anyone can use this technology because of its relative affordability and the ease of application. Just look online and you can find quite a few good products to help you boost and maximise your brain power and live life like you have never done before.

The process of aging presents a challenge to the body, mind and spirit. All parts of the body come under the influence of gravity and head south. Wrinkles appear. Joints creak. Flights of stairs are suddenly longer. And the physical changes are all difficult to cope with. They can be a source of depression as people are reminded of their limitations. Or they may be a source of aggravation as the spirit still feels young but the body doesn’t cooperate. However, the most frightening aging factor of all is the gradual loss of cognition. Most people can and do cope with other conditions as long as their brains remain active.
Unlike the appearance of wrinkles, memory does not have to be a normal part of aging. Losing one’s mental prowess is not inevitable. The proper lifestyle can promise happy, productive ‘golden years.’ However, this future does require a commitment. One needs a daily routine that includes proper diet, physical exercise and mental exercise. And in some case supplements are helpful. Others may need medication. However, an early start with diet and exercise may often prevent the need for medication at a later date.
Over the years the American population has gotten older. At the same time it has also gotten fatter. Two-thirds of American adults are overweight or even obese because of two factors, a poor diet and lack of exercise. A study published in the British Medical Journal in 2005 discovered that obese women were 200% more likely to contract dementia than their thinner sisters. A diet high in saturated fats, refined sugar, chemical additives and trans fats damages the brain as well as the heart. And one can protect the brain and heart by eating a variety of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans, and egg yolks. Fish is proven brain food and should be consumed twice a week.
And working out is not just for thirty something muscle builders. Aerobic exercise improves blood circulation. For maximum performance, the brain needs glucose and it needs oxygen to burn the glucose. Optimal circulation transports glucose to the brain. The exercise delivers oxygen to burn the glucose. The benefits of exercise for the brain and its role in preventing diseases such as Alzheimer’s and dementia have been confirmed in several scientific studies. Walking for thirty minutes a day is an easy and inexpensive aerobic exercise that almost everyone can do. Other recommended activities are swimming, bicycling, hiking, jogging and taking an aerobics class.
Where brainpower is concerned, you either use it or lose it so it is important to engage in mental activities such as learning something new, reading, puzzles and even playing cards. Or you can try a physical activity that also requires mental exercise such as tennis or dancing. In addition to diet and exercise, there are also supplements that help protect the brain. The seven most recommended are:Acetyl L-carnitine, Choline, DMAE, DHA, ginkgo biloba, Vinpocetine and Phosphatidylserine. However, before adding a supplement to your brain protection regime, you should check with your health care provider. This is particularly true if you are taking other medications.
The best brain foods are foods that will help you greatly with mental functions including memory, concentration, moods and more. Here are some excellent choices for stronger and better functioning brain power.
1. Blueberries for Memory.
Blueberries are great for improving your long term memory making them one of the best brain foods. The antioxidants protect the brain from free radical damage. Prevention of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease is also associated with blueberry consumption. Try to go for ripe blueberries, but frozen blueberries are said be effective as well, locking in flavor and antioxidants.
2. Mixed Nuts for Calming Effects.
Mixed nuts contain arginine in high amounts which are responsible for providing that calming effect. Studies have shown that those without this amino acid are much more anxious, while those taking this amino acid were much more calmer and relaxed.
3. Peppermint Tea for Concentration.
Just the scent of peppermint tea can lead to much stronger focus, performance, and concentration. Many long distance drivers have experienced better focus while driving after having peppermint tea.
4. Spinach and Leafy Greens for Good Moods.
Leafy greens like spinach contain strong sources of B vitamins making them one of the best brain foods to consume. These are important for the production of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine to occur in your body, all of which lead to excellent, positive states of mind. Those lacking certain B vitamins can experience nervousness and even depression.
5. Flax Seed for Increased and Sharpened Senses.
Flax contains ALA or alphalinoleic, which is a healthy fat that improves the pleasure senses of the brain.
All you need is a tablespoon a day of seeds which you can sprinkle on salads or other foods.

While others are searching for that elusive 90% (supposedly) unused brain power, it is possible for you to go directly to the seat of the mind within you and find it quicker than anyone else. Just the mere revelation of this knowledge should make you want to dance in the street as you prepare to tackle the world around you with a new perspective. Let’s take a look.
We humans regard ourselves as living, physical entities capable of intellectual and emotional expression as supposedly generated by our brain by means of our mind, which, in turn, we presume forms an integral part of the brain. In assured fashion, we would at times go so far as to point at our head with one finger to indicate that we are busy thinking – simply because it feels like it’s all happening up there. Fallacy!
What if you were told that the human brain is empowered by the spirit within you for the sole purpose of controlling the bodily functions of the physical part of our make-up and that it has no conscious intellectual or emotional capabilities – let alone contain a memory database? As far out as this may seem, it is fact.
Inside of our human spirit is an area referred to as the heart. This is where it all happens. And this is where the true you is reflected. Your heart encompasses the consciousness and individuality of your human spirit and seats your intellect and emotions. Your personality, in its totality, is located here and it is reflected to the world you live in. How?
Enter the chief executive officer of your heart – your mind. This baby hugs your heart like the mouse to your computer. However, this guy can be mischievous. Like an ethereal roamer around the heart he is supposed to do the honourable thing and reflect the good things of the heart to the world. Your heart contains all the good, as well as bad things that it has absorbed since entering the world. All of your physical senses have gathered information and channelled it to your heart via a conduit, called the brain.
Your physical body is, in effect, your heart’s window to the material world. And the heart of your spirit has an unlimited capacity for the storage of information and memory. This is where dreams and ideas are conjured up and processed based on its massive database of knowledge. The decision-maker, the mind, takes what is in the heart and decides how to portray it or apply it to circumstances. “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:” (Prov. 23:7) This certainly tells us where all of man’s thinking takes place.
This “chief executive officer” of your spirit, the mind, acts as the spokesperson for your heart. What this spokesperson says, you get. Your brain stands at attention waiting for instructions from the mind to express the whims of the mind by means of the tongue and physical body. Talk about the power of the tongue. This lad is nothing more than the mouthpiece for the inner mind to the natural world. And now you also know why it feels like all our deliberations take place in that cavity filled by the brain.
Depending on the condition of the mind, it can either be honest or maliciously deceitful. What comes out of your mouth is the voice of the mind of your spirit. Aggression, bitterness, hate, love, joy and peace are all items of knowledge stored in the heart as a result of experiences picked up in our world. Your mind decides what to extract from the heart and present to the world. It can make or break those around you – and it can also make or break you as an individual.
Your heart and your mind are bosom buddies. They are all that you have. They are you. If you renew your mind to take only the good things of the heart, you’ll have a synergy that can conquer and overcome the world – turning war into peace and failure into success.
Guess what? You have discovered where that 90% has been lurking all the time and you are now in a position to saddle it and ride it.
Now that you know all of this, go ahead and dance in the street, but not for too long. What will the neighbours think?
