Fish Food for Thought : Brain Foods

Have you heard about omega-3s? You may have seen headlines in the New York Times or CNN touting their benefits. Maybe you have seen them highlighted on cereal boxes and other food products. What are they and why is it such a big deal?

The fat brain

Omega-3s are one type of Poly-Unsaturated Fatty Acid or PUFA that are incredibly important for your heart and brain. In fact, your brain is about 25% PUFA by weight and about 40% fat overall. Yes, the brain is a big fat organ! This is one reason why low-fat diet fads are not the best option.

Omega-3s are actually important for every cell in the body but they are especially high in brain cells. They help your brain cells signal to each other appropriately and keep things running smoothly.

So what kinds of foods have them? Actually, there are three main kinds of omega-3s. One that comes mostly from plants, like flaxseed and some nuts, and two others that come mostly from fish. They are all important for the body but the omega-3s found in fish appear to be most important for the brain.

Food for your mood

The interesting thing is that societies who eat more fish have lower rates of depression, suicide and violent behavior. Also, omega-3s have been found to be lower in blood samples from suicide victims, schizophrenics and bipolar patients.

These types of studies are called ‘observational’ because you can’t say that low omega-3s caused these conditions. However, one study that took place in a British women’s prison showed that giving inmates omega-3 supplements actually reduced violent behavior. Also, omega-3s have shown promise in small clinical trials treating depression and bipolar illness. Other studies in animals show that omega-3s affect the levels of neuro-chemicals that control mood, like dopamine and serotonin.

This is not to say that if you don’t get enough omega-3s that you will get mentally ill, but there appears to be a real link. Many factors contribute to mental illness, including, genetics, chronic stressful experiences, physical activity and yes, diet. Omega-3s look like they are one piece in the puzzle.

What about Mercury?

So should you just eat more fish? This brings up another problem. Too much fish can lead to problems from mercury and PCBs. In fact, pregnant women are advised not to eat fish at all. This is a big debate in the medical community because omega-3s are incredibly important for development of the fetus and the growing baby will ‘steal’ omega-3s from the mother if she doesn’t get enough in her diet. Some researchers argue that this advice does more harm than good. Still, most doctors today don’t offer their pregnant patients any other alternatives – they just say don’t eat fish.

This is where fish oil supplements can come in. They are becoming very popular and offer a safe alternative – if you are careful. The thing to look for is ‘molecular distillation’ on the back of the bottle. This means that the manufacturer has tried to remove heavy metals and PCBs. Still, I would check with them to make sure they have some kind of quality control since the FDA does not regulate this claim.

Why now?

So why didn’t we have all these problems centuries ago. It’s not like all our ancestors took fish oil pills all the time. Well, there is another major factor that I haven’t mentioned yet – omega-6s.

Omega-6s are another kind of PUFA that are also important in the brain. The balance between omega-6s and omega-3s in the diet is very important. They are like the yin and yang of fats. They compete with each other for many biological functions and keep each other in check.

For example, omega-6s help the immune system by turning on inflammatory processes necessary to fight infections. Omega-3s help to turn it off and keep inflammation low. They are both important but need to be kept in balance.

We think that the ideal ratio between omega-6s and omega-3s is about 1:1 and this is what we probably ate throughout most of our thousands of year history. However, today’s western diet is closer to 10:1 or even as high as 30:1 in favor of omega-6s. We are getting too many omega-6s and not enough omega-3s to balance them out.

Why? Omega-6s are high in oils from corn, safflower, canola, peanuts and soy. These are found in high concentrations in many of the foods we eat, especially processed foods. It has really been since the industrial revolution that we started to consume large amounts of omega-6s and lower amounts of omega-3s.

Many researchers, including myself, believe that this is one factor in the rise of many diseases today. Since omega-6s tend to promote inflammatory responses, we are essentially eating a high inflammatory diet. Inflammation is a major suspect underlying many diseases of the brain and body – the big ones being heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease.

So there it is. Omega-3s are important for many functions and they are a big deal because our dietary intake of omega-3s and omega-6s are out of whack. The best thing you can do is to stop eating many of the processed foods that contain high omega-6s and eat a little more fish. Personally, I take a high quality fish oil supplement daily and so do my wife and kids.

Children’s DHA, Supplements and Brain Development : Brain Foods

Article by Steve Geysbeek

Have you ever asked yourself this question, “what’s DHA and what does it have to do with my child’s health?” Here is some information on what DHA is, some facts about what the body uses it for and tests and research concerning DHA reinforcement.

DHA ( docosahexaenoic acid ) is a long-chain omega-3 greasy acid that comes from fish oil. It’s the longest and most unsaturated of the omega-3 trans-acids and is considered physiologically necessary in the correct growth and development of the brain, nerve system and retina to support optimal cognitive function. DHA really accumulates in the brain our first couple years of life; no other omega fatty acid does this. When born DHA makes up about 93% of the omega-3 acids in the retina and 97% of the omega-3 fatty acids in the brain and increase as the brain develops during the first two years of life and after based on measures in the cerebral cortex up to eighteen years old. Basically; DHA=brain food.

When applying to the brain, DHA, often combined with EPA ( eicosapentaenoic acid ) in augmentation, is critical for correct brain function. It is present in high concentrations coating parts of the neural surfaces ( providing fluidity and permeability ) where it has been found to play a vital role in the capability of the brain to send and receive clear signals and therefore function correctly. Basically, if you think about the nerves as electric wires in the sense that they send electrical impulses and have a coating to keep the current within the wire and broadcasting smoothly; the coating on our nerves is made of a high content of omega-3 fatty acids most of which is DHA. Meaning the more DHA in your grey matter the better it can work.

What does this have to do with children’s health? In doing the analysis for this work I found there were many studies ( some of which can be found on dhaomega3.org ) that show a relationship between cognitive function, some behaviour issues, learning capability, memory, some reading disabilities, grades at college, visible acuity and levels of DHA in the brain. From the womb and beyond DHA plays an important role under development. Babies whose mas got at least 200-300mg of DHA each day when carrying the baby have been shown to have better visual acuity at sixteen and 30 weeks. Breast-feeding mas or babies who require formula can supplement with DHA food supplements and formulas that contain DHA

In Sweden a study was conducted of fifteen years old college children and found that those that consumed fish high in omega-3’s more than once per week had 15% higher grades than those who consumed fish less than once per week. Not only that, another study showed cumulative benefits from lengthened ingestion of DHA may eventually over time have positive effects on school performance. In this study a daily intake of 127mg of DHA+55mg of EPA, as gotten from fish oil, embedded in bread spread was given to 7-9 year olds over a six month period. The control group had less than 20% of that intake. The bolstered kids had improvement ( based primarily on the Hopkins verbal Learning Test ) in recognition by 9%, discrimination index improvement of 20% and the same with the spelling test. DHA even seems to have a positive effect on dyslexia; after taking 480mg of DHA+108mg of EPA+ a lower level of GLA ( gamma-linolenic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid ) for twenty weeks the twelve year olds showed a 60 percent improvement on reading tests. It should be mentioned however this was an open-pilot trial. More studies are being done and need to be done but this is undeniably a fascinating beginning.

An inspiring study proved that a DHA / EPA mix given to autistic 5-17 year olds reduced their hyperactive symptoms. Studies are ongoing to find the best mix levels of DHA / EPA and dose to help these kids. Other issues such as ADHD may be due to metabolic differences in greasy acid metabolism, causing fatty acid profiles that are out of whack, including lower levels of DHA causing poor information transmission in nerves. Scientists are researching what combination of omega-3 and omega-6 supplementation could help with certain sides of ADHD behaviors.

The deal with DHA and even a DHA / EPA mix is that it’s been shown to be important for development health in youngsters and folks of all ages especially as we get older. All in all it is advised that children get at least 100-150mg of DHA from the food they eat. A technique to do that’s by providing a low contaminate fish a couple times every week, or tuna from a can. Be careful, a lot of fish contain mercury, pesticides, toxins and dioxins; raised levels are not good for anybody let alone youngsters.

If you choose a food supplement ensure you find a credible company that goes through severe standard quality testing, ideally a few QC tests and outside laboratory testing. Some corporations on the store shelves have been recalled due to unsafe levels of PCBs. You are looking for a pharmaceutical grade form of DHA, one which has gone thru filtration more than 2 times.

With so much going on in our kids’ lives and all the kick, it could be wise to give their brains some extra food. DHA and DHA / EPA combo are a way to give them the tools they need to be in a position to concentrate and use their minds to the very best of their capabilities. Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids and fish low in contaminates or a food supplement are the best way to do that.

Children’s dha is important in early development. read more on DHA and Nutrition For ADHD Children, Natural Treatment For ADHD.

CONQUER THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE

“Buongiorno everyone!”

Are you planning a fabulous holiday to Italy and you would like to learn their language?

Do you have Italians living nearby that you would love to impress with your ability to speak their language?

Maybe you are marrying into an Italian family and need to know what those in-laws-to-be are really saying about you!

Or maybe you have just always wanted to learn the most romantic language in the world! Italian!

The thing I love about Italian is that it is not unlike English in its spelling and pronounciation of words. When you are learning German, French or Japanese you are really starting from scratch as most of their words are completely different to ours!

Before I travelled overseas, I decided to be fluent in at least one language so that it made it easier in one country for me! I learnt French at school and had a vague memory of the language – so I didn’t feel I needed to relearn that one… but I have always had an underlying love for the sound of the Italian language when it’s spoken!

So off I went to Italian classes one night a week for 10 weeks! I would have to drive to the local high school and sit in an uncomfortable chair in the freezing night air to learn this beautiful language! Well, thank God for computers and the internet! Now you can learn anything you want in the comfort of your own home and at any time that is convenient for you!

And you can learn and conquer a language so much easier now. It has been discovered how the brain actually takes in new information better – when I learnt Italian – I had the chunky text book in front of me and the teacher would write away on the chalkboard! Boring and tedious!

Now you can learn Italian or any language with just 20 minutes each day by playing games! Most of us think that people who learn a new language with ease possess linguistic talents and are fast learners. But the truth is that talents have very little to do with how well an individual is able to grasp a new language!

To learn ANY new language… you need a foolproof way of remembering the most commonly used words like the back of your hand! Language experts recently found that as much as 50% of all everyday conversations in Italian (or in any other language for that matter) consists of not more than 1000 words.

Now let’s think about this for a moment… If you have a way of magically imprinting 1000 most commonly used Italian words in your mind, and be able to use them anytime, anywhere and in any context…

How will it change the way you speak Italian?

Imagine:

* You’ll no longer have problems finding the right word to use!

* You’ll no longer struggle just to start or hold a basic conversation!

* You’ll find learning Italian to be an enjoyable experience, not the bore it used to be!

You’ll be able to make new friends, broaden your perspective and even impress others with your newfound language skills!

The brain is most receptive and best suited for learning when it is in a highly relaxed state. Playing Italian Matching Games allows you to match up to 25 random pairs of Italian and English phrases at any one time, generated from a database of 1000 most commonly used words.

The world around us is commonly represented in 3 forms… words, visuals and numbers. In order to develop a photographic memory that works well in a real life setting, you’ll need to quickly form associations between words, visuals and numbers using various memory techniques.

You can simply play a flash card memory game for as little as 5 to 15 minutes daily, or whenever you feel like it. Through the engaging format of a scoring game, your brain is actually strengthening the kind of associations it can make between words, visuals and numbers…

… and where does this lead to? A proficient speaker of Italian! You will have conquered the Italian language with ease! You will be chatting away to the locals in Rome before you know it!

Think of all those attractive Italians of the opposite sex just waiting to meet you… Think of strolling through the vineyards in the country side of Italy… Imagine being in a little Italian restaurant on the piazza and you know what you have ordered because you can read the menu!

If you would love to be fluent and confident in Italian you can check out the link below:

It is a simple surefire way of learning Italian that associates words, pictures and numbers so that you will be speaking fluent Italian before that plane takes off the tarmac! Ciao!

Article by David Gimmer

Through your life you have probably heard the term “brain food”, suggesting that there are certain types of foods that can help your brain function. This is all very true! Studies have shown certain foods can increase your brain function and enhance your memory as well. So lets take a look at some foods that improve memory and discuss what it is about them that helps you retain more information.

So what foods improve memory?

Fatty Fish:There is a lot of benefit in having a good does of omega-3 fatty acids in your diet. These fatty acids help your brain to build and maintain its cells. Fish that have a high amount of omega-3’s include: mackerel, salmon and herring.

Flax Seed and Flax Seed Oil:These are also a fantastic source of omega-3 fatty acids.

Eggs:Eggs are incredible in what they are able to provide for you. They are rich in vitamin E, omega-3’s and B-vitamins. B- vitamins help in the production of neurotransmitters and also their release, helping your nervous system overall. In addition, B-vitamins are believed to help with the creation of new brain cells.

Sweet Potatoes:Sweet potatoes are rich in vitamin B6, carbohydrates, as well as vitamin c and beta-carotene. Carbohydrates are used by your brain for energy. Vitamin C and beta-carotene are excellent antioxidants that help protect your brain cells from free radicals that can damage them over time.

Avocados:Avocados can help in blood flow in the body. This means that the better blood flow to your brain the more oxygen can be supplied. This improves both concentration and the ability to retain information.

Apples:Apples contain a nutrient known as quercetin which is an antioxidant. Recent studies have shown that this particular nutrient can help protect against Alzheimer’s disease. However, be sure to eat an apple whole with its skin on as its skin is where most of the quercetin resides.

Dark Chocolate:You might be surprised to see this one on here as chocolate seems to be the enemy. But it’s not necessarily true with dark chocolate. Amazingly, if your dark chocolate is 60% cocoa or more, you can receive a lot of great health benefits. How would you like to be a veritable sponge for absorbing information, learning and retaining whole volumes and libraries of information with the ease of a whole host of academics, shocking everyone with your knowledge, winning game shows and sweeping the local pub quiz nights with your quick banter, encyclopaedic brain and almost vast and endless pits of knowledge? Now you can as well with the technology called subliminal learning. What happens is that our minds are quite limited in the learning department, no matter how much we think we can learn. This is because of the cognitive processes that exist in our mind and how we each retain and learn information is different from person to person.

To be truly technical in the matter, it can be safely said that the brain has the capability for almost limitless learning; it has memory banks that seem to have no limit and a memory system that is almost perfect. The only hurdle to accessing this is of course human limitations and the fact that the brain does not function solely as a learning tool for the human being. It also co-ordinates our limbic system, our psychological systems and our human central nervous and emotional processes. Our day-to-day bodily functions also come into the purview of our brain and the cerebral cortex – but all this is not to say that we are incapable of multi tasking. We are, but as the brain concentrates on more than one function at a time, then we might have a diluted experience as our brain capacity is stretched too thin.

Then we must also think about the possible distractions like emotional stress, depression, hyperactivity, learning problems and attention deficit disorders that exist in small quantities throughout people across the world. What needs to be done is to focus the brain into a state that is optimal for both learning new data and information as well as retaining the information as well. We can achieve this through subliminal learning, which is a method that leans the brain into a constant state of learning and absorption. The combination of our vision and our memory system means that the brain has an almost photographic memory, which is available in all of us – the key is in unlocking it.

While ‘remembering’ the information, more and more is absorbed and more is learned at the same time. This can even be done when the individual is asleep, meaning that erudition is a non-stop 24-hour process. Absorbing knowledge better with subliminal learning is indeed possible, as the technology is widely available everywhere you turn. All it takes is logging onto the internet and searching for the right keywords, which is often something along the lines of ‘self improvement’ or ‘subliminal learning’.

Always make sure you do some in-depth research as well when it comes to subliminal CDs and mp3s; go for the ones that have the most rave reviews and third party recommendations. With this, you will have the advantage of topping your class, impressing your friends and be the overall smart guy or girl in your group.

Many camping enthusiasts go on numerous trips each year. This is understandable, given that every such trip is likely to offer something a little different. But it may also be the case that the memory is of particular camping holidays will tend to blur over time.

This is almost unavoidable, unless you’re fortunate enough to have a photographic memory. For the rest of us, the real trick here is to try and make each camping trip as unique and memorable as we possibly can.

How can we go about achieving this? It’s certainly easy to create a holiday that you will remember for all the wrong reasons. Unfortunately, this is unlikely to be your underlying aim. None of us like to have horrendous holidays that are a real drag. We want to spend time enjoying ourselves.

Ideally, we’re probably looking to return from our trip feeling refreshed and happy. We want to tell other people about the great time that we’ve had while we were away. Although this may not always be achievable, it certainly is something that we’re likely to focus on.

As I think about the many camping trips that I’ve been on, I tend to find that I have the most positive memories of those where I have been fortunate enough to spend time with people that I really get along with. Have a think about your own experiences and consider your own memories.

You may realise that your best holidays were spent at expensive campsites. But I would suggest that it’s much more likely that your own experiences will mirror my own. You’ll probably look back fondly on great times spent with friends and family members.

That’s why it’s clear that the most successful camping holidays are those that are spent with people we are close to. When you’re planning your next trip, don’t forget to think about those who you will be spending time with. This may be the most important element of your camping adventure.

That’s not to say that you shouldn’t think carefully about the location of the campsite and about taking the appropriate camping equipment. These are, of course, also important elements. But they’re probably not as vital as the need to spend time with your favourite people.

4/5 stars

Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) and Harvey Spector (Gabriel Macht) are not a match made in heaven, but for television law they make a great balance. Dry humor runs under the main theme of each episode so not to take away from very good story telling. The show lacks some true lawyer obstacles that arise when a young apprentice is being molded through the eyes of those responsible for their growth and maturity. How they come together on Suits, the glue that keeps them connected would never happen to any unlucky down on their luck lawyer want-to-be. USA Network, however, can put a spin on the circumstances to build one of the better legal dramas of 2011.

Mike Ross has a photographic memory, yielding him the ability to take the bar exam while having never attending law school. Crossroads in his life put him in a situation of choice of which once made takes control completely out of his hands. His grandmother (Rebecca Shull) does not want to be a burden to her grandson. Her faith in Mike is like most grandmothers and they have a bond that is loyal. Mike has to raise the cash necessary to put his grandmother in full care accommodations or the medical establishment she is now in will be compelled to move her to a state-run facility. Now he must choose between doing something illegal for cash or watching his grandmother be placed in a less than proficient living dwelling.

Mike chooses to follow through on his friend Trevor’s (Tom Lipinski) scheme to make a big score by meeting a man in a hotel room with a briefcase full of marijuana in exchange for money. What he does not know is that Trevor is being held against his will as not to tip Mike off. The man holding Trevor thinks there is a chance the deal is a set up by the police.

Mike accesses his eidetic memory and realizes he is going to walk into a police trap, while on the run through the hotel proceeds dead on into a room full of potential law associates waiting to be interviewed.

Harvey Spector is better able to withstand the pressures of being a high profile lawyer who can manipulate and twist the facts. His boss, Jessica Pearson, is forcing him to interview and hire a protégé for recruitment into the firm. Harvey is less than thrilled because he prefers to work alone and thinks less of everyone else but himself. Since he cannot get out of the process, he, along with his assistant, begin the grind of interviewing all the clones Harvard has to offer.

He is often challenged by his co-worker Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman), who thinks Harvey is all polish with no substance. Harvey loves the debating that drives their less than friendly relationship using Litt as a verbal punching bag.

Harvey’s assistant Donna (Sarah Rafferty) begins screening the assembly line of possible new recruits by throwing out off-the-cuff lines like, “What makes you think I’m going to let the whitest man I’ve ever seen interview for our firm?” or “Kid, you look like you’re 11 years old.” Nobody has the response she is looking for until Mike blows in and gets scolded as Donna says, “Excuse me, Mr. Sorken, you are 5 minutes late. Is there a reason I should let you in?” His response: “I’m just trying to ditch the cops, okay? I don’t really care if you let me in or not.”

A stunned Mike is whisked into the interview room as his briefcase flips open and the bags of pot come tumbling out. He wins Harvey over with his skill at memory recall and soon is offered a job he cannot refuse. Secrets bind these two and will be a web that can be woven into every episode.

Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle) is smarter than the position she holds at the firm, snd her looks cause her to be defensive. This comes on strong while she is walking Mike through the orientation tour. Mike uses his skill of memory to win Rachel over after he admits aloud how beautiful she is. Her look is a sub version of who she really is and she hears those words so often she now finds it a bit insulting. She works very hard at her job and with her experience, Rachel is able to help shape Mike’s future at the firm.

There are challenges with the characters that will stream continued storyline as each episode will have an independent narrative. The legal jargon is limited, which keeps even the layman connected to the thread of dialogue. The glow of high-rise cityscape is a USA Network necessity that can be found in almost every hour-long drama this cable television channel runs. Most legal shows have used a lot of dark wood which bestows a more opaque look to the sets. Suits has light beaming in from the floor to ceiling windows of the aerial building that houses the firm. The vestibule that leads to the elevators on the first floor is an immense set that is often used for scenes of fundamental segways. The music is subtle and does not become more than the show needs.

Those unforgettable days with near and dear ones- at parties, in the realm of calm sea, crowded beach with whistling sounds, patches of casuarina and many more are remembered, when a person makes his or her album. Those vibrant images, oftenly take you back to your treasured days of the life. While scrolling pages of the album, you remember all your mischievous and funny acts, which makes you feel happy. Telling the story about your adventurous trip to your friends across the world has been made easy with the help of new photo sharing technique.

The photo sharing helps the users to share numerous images and videos with the world. This technique publishes or transfers the digital photos online. Moreover, it enables the users to share them with others- publicly or privately. This sharing functionality is provided through either websites or applications that facilitate the upload and display of images or both.

Photo sharing can also be applied to the use of online photo galleries, which are setup and managed by individual users. Some of the online photo galleries includes photoblogs, youtring and many more. The first photo sharing site was originated in late 1990s primarily, from service providing online ordering of prints or photo-finishing. But the technique gained its popularity during the early years of 2000s. The technique became popular with the outcome of digital camera and internet. In comparison to traditional photographic printing, it is claimed that many digital cameras are not built to provide long-lasting photographic memories. While these complaints hold some ground, therefore, development on the internet over the past few years has meant that there is now an easy way to retain the longevity of captured photos through online picture sharing.

The main goal of providing the photo sharing concept was permanent or centralised access to the users photos as well as in some cases video clips too. Undoubtedly, it resulted in different approaches to revenue generation and functionality amongst the providers.

Uploading memorable photos and sharing them online comes with a wide list of benefits. First and foremost is that one can share and upload photos, images and videos with family and friends, even across the national boundaries. These online sharing is comparatively inexpensive and affordable, as one has to place them on an online photo album. It also helps the users to cut-down on the expenses like post photos to multiple senders by mail. Moreover, the online sharing technique offers a massive storage capacity to the users for their photos.

This sharing concept is not only confined to the web and personal computers. As a matter of fact, with the help of portable devices such as camera phones, one can automatically transfer photos as he or she take them, to desired photo sharing sites and photo blogs. This sharing is also made possible even with the help of MMS. The camera focused phones with wireless networking and similar sharing functionality are other logical way to share the images, video and albums on the internet. The increasing popularity of online sharing sites has seen the emergence of many successful internet brands in the “new generation” web 2.0 sites.

To conclude, the concept of photo sharing sites has flourished among both professionals as well as amateur photographers.

The question “How to get over my ex girlfriend?” is a question asked by all straight men at least once in their lives and to the seeker of the answer, it can prove to be quite elusive. Your first break up of your first meaningful relationship is the most difficult to deal with, it is unlike any pain you ever felt before and it isn’t something you can get used to. You learn to deal with break ups a little better as you experience them more, but again, it isn’t something you can get used to.

They say that break ups are as traumatic as losing someone you love by death, but we have to put things in perspective, it is the pain that is on par with death and not the reality. Every day people have to deal with tragedies that can’t be undone no matter what they do. But in your case, no matter how painful the break up might have been, the fact remains that you haven’t lost anything that can’t be taken back.

I know for a fact that you can be happy with or without your ex girlfriend and I also know for a fact that you can fall in love again with someone new. We are designed in a way so that we forget things and this is a good thing for the most part. Imagine if you had a photographic memory of all the unpleasant things that has happened to you in your life. Could you ever forgive someone for a wrongdoing? Could you ever stop grieving for someone? We never completely forget about something, but time is like an anesthetic to our memory, it numbs all our memories down. So in order to continue being happy we keep making new memories with the people we love and when we stop making new experiences with someone in particular, that person slowly but surely becomes a dusty archive in our memory.

You have to understand that pain, happiness, sadness, hatred, and all range of emotions peak at some point. Chances are that your pain has peaked already and you are just looking for a soft landing. The best thing to do in your situation is of course to keep yourself occupied with something entertaining or maybe even productive. I know your mind is telling you to stay home and to be alone, but I promise you that you will feel so much better if you surround yourself with the people that care about you.

If you feel like taking a little chance, I would also advise you to start dating again. I don’t want you to look for a serious and long-term relationship. I just want you to have a little fun by meeting new people and to re-acquaintance yourself to the excitement of starting anew. For one night don’t think about your ex girlfriend and just imagine you are having a good time with a friend. This will help you look towards the future rather look back for a past that’s long gone.

Whatever you decide to do, just remember that you don’t have to commit to anything or anyone, and you no longer have to factor in your ex girlfriend to come to a decision. The end is the beginning of something new and with that knowledge you’ll never be lost.

It’s frustrating to be continuously forgetting items, continuously being required to make note of names, phone numbers and necessary details. Then even more infuriating when you forget where you have put your records. Well, memorization techniques will let you lower that disappointment. You won’t need to have that little notebook, that PDA, that smartphone, to remember the important things since you can certainly coach yourself to remember a whole lot more than you ever believed was attainable for you. Appointments, nicknames, telephone numbers, plus more – they’ll all be easy for you to remember without whipping out those notes when you frequently take advantage of memorization techniques. There are a lot more than a few strategies to help the average person engrave data for a longer time, or even permanently, in his or her memory banks. Like for example , repeating what you are looking to commit to memory, associating them with illustrations or photos that could set off your memory, or writing them down in little ditties as well as stories.

Repetition

Repetition is a common practice when individuals prefer to remember things for the forseeable future. Everybody has had to make use of it one time or another. For instance, when somebody rattles off a phone number and you rush for the telephone saying it again and again. Repetition is also a memorization technique employed by a great deal of students who want to remember their lessons when confronted with a quiz. This is a quick fix for both long term and short term memory concerns. Saying the information to yourself frequently could make the mind recall more easily, may it be a group of numbers, people, information from your textbook, and many others.

Images are Simpler to Remember

You have heard of a photographic memory before, right? Individuals with such talents think in images, and this particular memorization technique is simply as efficient with just about every individual intellect as it might be with them. For instance, an individual who would like to keep in mind the numbers 0124 could possibly picture a clown smoking a cigarette while balancing four balls. Remembering that you might want two bulbs for example, could possibly make use of the image of a light switch which has two settings.

Tell a Story, Sing a Song

Generating a story or just a little song is usually both a fun and productive way to recollect things. You may make the story on your own, or modify existing ones. For instance, let’s take the ‘Ten Little Pigs’ ditty for children. Assuming you have a grocery list you need to recall, then start out: ‘This little pig went to market, buying tea, cookies, shirts, and apples. This little pig stayed at home, wanting tea, cookies, shirts, apples, and mint….’ And so forth. You get the drift. This is only one demonstration of the memorization techniques you may use to trap and secure the points that always manage to slip your thoughts.
