1. Do some brain games. Not only are brain games a lot of fun, but they may help optimize your concentration and focus. Relying on your long-term memory and attempting to solve challenging things helps stimulate the brain. Taking only 15 minutes daily to play brain games may benefit you.

I went through a couple of programs and did a large amount of investigation on each one, I came to understand there were merely a big rip-off. They didn’t help me get more intellectual at all. This made me frustrated and I just about gave up my search but then I came upon a program called the ZOX Pro Training System. Having passed through scam programs before I sure was a bit doubtful but I thought, whatever, why not give it an extra try. Let me tell you that it has worked even better than I expected!

Listed below are what The ZOX Pro Training System has done for myself: Improved my reading tempo tremendouslyGreatly improved my concentration and focusI don’t forget anything anymoreIt provided the ability to be more organized and efficientIt only takes 10 minutes each day to dramatically boost your overall intelligence.

Complex carbohydrates are vital as well, and these carbs derive from fruits, vegetables, and grains. The brain should have some fat, so do not steer clear from all fats.

It is important to primarily eat good fats that can be found in healthy oils like olive oil or fish oils. They could also be found in nuts like pistachios, peanuts, and cashews. Attempt to stay away from processed foods since they tend to have unhealthy fats.Have foods that include omega-3s, such as trout, salmon, and tuna, which are oily fish.

5. Start out a new hobby. Trying a new past time is an additional method to expand your interests and utilize your brain to discover new facts. Being busy and learning something new stretch the way the brain thinks.

Challenging ones self and improving brain functionality may be something that any person is able to do.Make one particular adjustment today to stimulate your brain. You will not notice any radical alterations in a single day, but with some time and training, ultimately you will learn that you are able to finish puzzles much quicker, solve problems with ease, and also have improved concentration and focus.

Vitamins : Eat Foods High in Vitamin A or Take Supplements

Article by Alison Addy

Our Need For Vitamin A

Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that is essential for proper growth. Vitamin A is needed for many of our body’s functions. Some of the things Vitamin A is needed for are maintaining good eyesight, repair and growth of our body tissues, healthy skin and promoting good bone and teeth formation in children. Research has also shown that it may be useful as an antioxidant.

Although Vitamin A exists as a single compound, it also is present in nature in several different forms. Vitamin A is found in both plants and animals. When it comes from animal tissues, it contains aldehyde, a form of alcohol that is also an acid. However, when it comes from plants, it contains the vitamin carotenoid. Carotenoid comes in different forms, but the most common and well-known carotenoid is carotene, which is found in carrots and apricots. It is also what gives them their bright orange color. Crude palm oil is the richest carotenoids source in nature. You remember as a child being told to eat your carrots for good eyesight. It’s easy to realize than that Vitamin is good for your eyesight.

How Much Do We Need

The amount of Vitamin A we need in our body, known as the United States of America RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance) depends on the gender of the person. Men should have approximately 900 micrograms while women need around 700 micrograms. Although we should eat foods high in Vitamin A, consuming as much as 3,000 micrograms is bordering on too high. Many people are worried that they are not getting the right amount of Vitamin A from the foods they eat so they choose to take Vitamin A supplements. If you take multivitamins, you will usually get the recommended amount you need. Try to eat as many foods that are rich in Vitamin A as you can.

Foods High in Vitamin A

Many foods are excellent choices for Vitamin A. Liver is one of the many foods high in Vitamin A. Being a fat-soluble vitamin, Vitamin A is stored in our fats and in the liver. Other foods high in Vitamin A are sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, apricots and mangos. Generally, any foods that are orange or yellow in color are good Vitamin A sources. Spinach, milk, egg yolks, mozzarella cheese and cantaloupe are also foods high in Vitamin A.

As good as Vitamin A is for us, care should be taken to not consume too much Vitamin A. Consuming too much Vitamin A can be toxic, especially for pregnant women. Beta-carotene may not be harmful to our bodies, but too much could give our skin an orangish tone.

Become Smarter Eating – Brain Foods : Brain Foods

Article by Jeremy Wong

This is a continuation from Eating to your Smartness – Part 1, part of a series of articles about becoming smarter through foods, so visit http://www.smarter-mind.com/ if you haven’t read it.

In part 1, I mentioned of the huge benefits that foods can have on the brain, and talked about the first of the 3 important components that will help boost your brain’s power – water. In this article, I will speak of oxygen, and the benefits and importance of keeping a good supply of it to your brain.

Oxygen for Smarts

Our brain needs a lot of oxygen, and it’s a known fact – it uses 20% of the body’s TOTAL consumption of oxygen, a very huge amount considering that the brain is only 2% of our whole body mass. This is the reason the brain starts to lose its mental abilities very quickly when deprived of this all important gas.

This is the sequence of events that follow an oxygen supply cut from the brain – within 4-6 minutes, large numbers of brain cells begin to die. No more than a few minutes later, death.

From all these facts, you can see that oxygen plays a big role when it comes to the brain. The sad truth is that most of us are not maximizing the amount of oxygen we can give to the brain and thus, not allowing the brain to perform to its full potential. The lighter effects that many people experience nowadays are fatigue, sleepiness and a lack of alertness.

Chances are that you are one of the many who suffer from this. There are various ways to overcome this problem and create results that are opposite of this, in which you generally become smarter and more intelligent. It’s all a matter of knowing how.

So how do you go about doing that?

One of the ways to do this is to eat meals of smaller quantities more often. So, instead of eating 3 larger meals every day, you eat 7 smaller ones. A good way would be to have sandwiches, as they are easily brought around. This way, more oxygen goes to the brain as less of it goes to the stomach for digestion.

Find out more methods and all its details at http://www.smarter-mind.com/, a resource on methodologies and ways to maximise your brain’s effectiveness and increase your IQ.

Nutrition Brain Food : Brain Foods

Article by Janet Walker

My brain is very important to me and i assume to you to, meaning your brain to mine. Since we age, which is out of our control, both our bodies and our brains grow old also. However by realising smart food choices, we can preserve our treasured gray matter for longer and improve our brain function. Below are a few brainy choices for keeping our brains in good shape.

Blueberries have been revealed to shield the brain from stress, dementia, and Alzheimers. Diets rich in blueberries significantly improves both the learning capacity and motor skills, which are been shown through research.Avocados, although considered a ‘fatty fruit,’ can contribute to healthy blood flow and reduce blood pressure, which decreases the chances of developing hypertension, which can lead to a stroke.

Deep-water fish, like salmon is a good, freshwater fish option. They are abundant in omega-3 essential fatty acids, which are crucial for healthy brain function.

Nuts and seeds are good sources of vitamin E, an important vitamin required by your brain to stave away declining cognitive functions. Walnuts, sunflower, sesame seeds, almonds, cashews and peanuts are all great options.

Whole-grain breads, oatmeal and brown rice also help to maintain a healthy brain by decreasing the risk of cardiac disease. Through promoting a healthy heart and improved blood flow, the brain is sure to flourish via excellent oxygen and nutrient delivery through the bloodstream. Complex carbohydrates also provide the brain with a constant stream of glucose that heightens brain function. It is crucial to keep off simple carbohydrates often found in junk food since the glucose gives the brain a short-lived sugar high, often followed by a crash that makes you feel hungry and tired.

Freshly brewed tea also has potent antioxidants, particularly the class known as catechines, which also promotes healthy blood flow. Since black teas do contain caffeine it is crucial to use it sensibly.

Dark chocolate has potent antioxidant attributes that contain several natural stimulants, which enhance focus and concentration, and promotes the production of endorphins, which helps improve your mood. Once again, moderation is the key.

Happy Eating.

DHA Omega3 – The Brain Food : Brain Foods

Article by Gordon P Hall

Literally thousands of new people from all walks of life are turning to the natural healing nutrients that are DHA Omega3. These people have learned of the importance of taking a daily supplement of Omega3 and adding it to their health regime. If you read on, I will tell you why they call this remarkable oil, the brain food.

You see, DHA Omega3 is used in huge amounts by our brain. The brain is comprised of some sixty per cent fat. Over half of this fat is DHA Omega3. This is used to keep us happy and content with our life. Researchers have discovered that DHA gives your brain a jump start, regardless whether you are young or old.

However, please be aware, that if our DHA Omega3 levels, which are tied to our serotonin levels, ever fall, then we are in for some bumpy weather. We shall suffer from emotional distress, which will show itself as mood swings and bouts of depression and other emotional disorders. On the other hand, DHA helps our memory and our recall function.

A high intake of fish is linked to a significant decrease in memory loss and a lower chance of developing Alzheimer’s Disease. On the other hand studies done in the US, show it may be linked to mental health. The studies showed a correlation between the lower amount of fish being eaten and the rising incidence of depression.

An adequate intake of DHA has been found to be necessary during pregnancy. You see, the fetuses cerebral cortex is made up of twenty per cent DHA fatty acids. And the retina is made up of some fifty per cent DHA. This DHA is absolutely essential for the baby’s normal development.

You must never buy an Omega3 supplement that has not been molecularly distilled to remove the impurities such as lead, mercury and the PCBs. These PCBs cause cancer and take hundreds of years to break down. This method is the only way to get rid of these PCBs. The remaining oil will be as pure as you can buy.

Gordon Hall is fervent about enabling you and everyone to live a healthy lifestyle, and is an ardent reviewer of fish oil supplements. To discover which supplements Gordon recommends after far ranging and extensive research. Visit his website now at: Elite Fish Oil Supplement

Vitamins : Vitamin K Foods – What They are and Why you Need Them

Article by Susan Lamont

Vitamin k foods are easy to obtain, regrettably few people know enough about this vitamin’s existence, let alone what foods it is found in. It is definitely essential for the body to be able to coagulate blood to cease bleeding if you are injured. As a fat soluble vitamin, vitamin K is saved in your body versus water soluble vitamins which only pass through your body.

The daily recommended dose of vitamin K is 85 micorgrams (mcg) each day. The majority of people don’t have to be troubled about a deficiency in vitamin K, foods packed with the nutrient are common place and the amount you require each day is not too extravagant. Foods with vitamin will keep most of the vitamin K even after being exposed to heat or boiled in water.

Green leafy vegetables are the biggest sources of vitamin K, with kale by far being the highest in the nutrient. Kale is a super vegetable in its own right. Spinach and cooking greens, for example turnip, beet and collard greens, are all very loaded in vitamin K. All of these vitamin K foods have amounts of the vitamin of over 500 mcg a serving, and with the recommended size of the vitamin being 85 mcg, it is simple to get your daily dose. Even foods such as eggs, wheat bread and prunes have amounts of at least above 50 mcg per serving.

Vitamin K deficiencies are scarce, mainly because if your diet is so poor that it is leading to a vitamin K deficiency, normally a more vital nutrient that is harder to acquire will lead to you to seek medical care before you ever reach the place of being enormously deficient in vitamin K. People who are in danger for not receiving enough vitamin K include people who endure cystic fibrosis, IBS and liver disease and newborn babies.

Bleeding for an abnormally long time after a cut, easy bruising, anemia and bloody noses are all clues of a deficiency. There are no proven side effects from vitamin K and no identified bad effects that a supplement of the vitamin might have on children, the elderly or pregnant women. People using a blood thinner, like Coumandin which goes by the generic name warfarin, should steer clear of vitamin K foods since these are people who need to avoid blood clots.

Other motives to get enough vitamin K foods are that it helps encourage strong bones, to weaken the appearance of dark under eye circles and bruises, and its ability to fight cancer with its antioxidant like qualities. Though deficiencies of vitamin K are atypical, if you do lack this vitamin it could end in disastrous consequences for you.

You can discover more information concerning how to pick the best vitamin k foods.

4 Brain Foods to Boost Your Memory

Let’s face it, as you start getting older your short term memory starts to fail you.  Question: “Where are my glasses”,  Answer: “On your head”.  Sound familiar?

Even if you’re younger there are days when you just wish your brain “worked” better.  That you could recall information or clear away the fog.  You might have even wondered if there were brain foods that could help.

Well, there are.

Brain Nutrients

Everything you eat affects your mind.  If you eat a steady diet of junk food you’ll feel sluggish and likely think sluggish.  If you want to be quick thinking and maintain your brain health over the years, you have to feed it the right nutrients.

Good old fashioned exercise is a great brain food too.  It’s no secret that exercising keeps you physically fit and studies show people who live long and healthy lives well into their 80’s and 90’s who exercise regularly and eat right often maintain their mental faculties.

Foods for the Brain

Brain surgeons know your brain is made of fat.  Omega 3 fatty acids that is.  DHA, EPA and ALA make up a large portion of your brain.  But you need to keep replenishing these fats.  The typical American diet keeps people deficient in these important nutrients.  Without them, your memory can slip, your mood be down and rampant inflammation can affect your whole body.

So, what brain foods are rich in these essential omega 3’s?  Fish.  If you’ve ever heard of fish described as brain food, the reason is because it’s full of omega 3’s.

1—Wild caught salmon is rated the best “health” food for many reasons but since it has very high levels of DHA fatty acid, it’s an excellent brain food.

You definitely want to get the wild caught fish.

When the salmon swims free it develops strong muscles and is usually healthier.  Farm raised fish on the other hand don’t get the room they need to move around and tend to be more sickly.

2–Chocolate!  Yep, you’ve heard it’s good for your heart but it turns out it also helps you maintain a healthy brain.  But don’t hit the vending machine quite yet.  Most mass produced chocolate bars have low levels of the healthy cacao bean which is the important ingredient.

Enjoy a sliver of high quality organic dark chocolate with 75% or more cacao beans.  You can find these specialty chocolates at natural food stores and some supermarkets.

3—Turmeric—This is a yellow spice you may be familiar with from Indian curries.  Turns out it has tremendous anti inflammatory properties and can boost your brain health.  Studies show people in rural India who eat high amounts of this spice have the lowest rates of Alzheimer’s in the world.  Coincidence?  Who knows.

Some scientists think there could be a correlation between healthy mental functioning and the compound in turmeric.

4–Grass fed beef is another good resource.  The reason why is because grass fed beef is full of omega 3 fatty acids like salmon.

By adding wild caught salmon and smaller fish like herring and sardines to your diet 2-3 times a week you’ll get your needed doses of foods for the brain. Eat high quality chocolate, turmeric and grass fed beef  to do more good things for your brain.

Of course, many doctors recommend fish oil supplements for overall health including your brain.  Protect your memory and your health with fatty acids.  To learn more, please visit my website where I share more research about boosting your brainpower.

Brain Food For Moms and Babies – Omega 3 Fish Oil Supplements : Brain Foods

Article by Henry Pops Hugo

During pregnancy when Mom is eating for two it is essential to eat well. That is healthily rather than excessively.

One of the most important dietary issues is Brain Food for mother and child. By this I mean elements in the diet that will ensure the healthy development of the baby’s brain and the continued health of the mothers brain. Early development of the child’s brain is extremely important and one of the most important sources of Brain Food is Omega 3 fats. Omega 3 fats are essential fatty acids which can be obtained from Omega 3 rich fish oils supplements.

The Omega 3 fats DHA and EPA are essential fats. By this we mean that they are essential in the diet of the mother and child to promote healthy development of the child and the continued health of the mother.

Essential fatty acids are not produced by the human body but must be provided from the diet. That is they must be in the food eaten by the mother. During pregnancy what the mother eats feeds the developing baby. For this reason it is important that the mother eats the foods that will provide the essential nutrients for developing baby. Omega 3 fats are essential brain food for baby.

These fatty acids are very important for the developing baby and the pregnant mother at this time.

During the baby’s growth in the womb these fatty acids are essential for the development of a healthy nervous system. These essential fats must be fed to the baby by the mother through the placenta.

The mothers diet must provide her with the normally required intake of these fatty acids as well as the requirements of the developing baby. If the requirement of essential fats is not met the baby’s development and that of the mother will be affected.

The consequences for the baby can be lowered birth weight and an under developed nervous system and brain.

The mother can suffer from reduced brain mass and early labor. Post partum is also more likely to occur.

Cold water oily fish are the most common dietary source of these essential fats. Fish such as sardines, salmon, and pilchards are common sources. Whole grains and seed such as flaxseed also provide Omega fatty acids. For the good health of mother and baby receive it is recommended to supplement the diet with Omega 3 fatty acids. An excellent source of these Omega 3 supplements are refined fish oil capsules containing the Omega3 oils in a purified form.

These supplements are produced from fish which in their natural habitat have consumed algae to produce these oils in their systems.

Refined fish oil capsules come in varying strengths. Their purity also depends on the manufacturing methods used. You should obtain the best quality supplements available.

Before starting such a program consult your doctor or at least inform him that you are doing so.
