Get Your Dream Body – Without Tons of Supplements and Breaking the Bank! : Brain Vitamin

Article by Patrick Day

You can get your HGH supplement order right check out page doorstep within days and also weeks depending on where you are located. .Lucid dreaming is definitely the art of becoming more self-aware within our dreams. Although lucid dreaming is actually practiced for centuries, it only recently became identified by science in the latter 1970s. Recently, lucid dreaming has seen extremely popularity thanks to some popular herbal supplements that claim to boost the ability of becoming aware that you’re most likely dreaming. These supplements, often known as “lucid dreaming pills” need promise, but they are in no way actually the quickest and most effective way to learn how towards lucid dream. I’ll discuss why in this article, and make suggestions for learning methods to lucid dream the natural way. <em>Lucid Dreaming Supplements: A Quick Review </em>Galantamine is essentially the most popular lucid dreaming health supplement today. This is a chemical synthesized with a few plant sources, remarkably red tiger lily. Galantamine is known as a legal supplement, and generally seems to work by modulating brain chemicals that sequentially modulate our waking and even sleeping cycles. Calea zacatechichi is definitely another highly prized articulate dreaming supplement. The leaves from thisflowering plant have been used as a cure-all medicinal herb in Mexico for years and years. Recent blind studies indicate that calea increases desire recall significantly, which can be an important part of causing lucid dreams. While there isn’t a scientific evidence yet for calea’s effect on lucid dreaming, there have been completely many self-reports claiming a good correlation. Brain vitamins More often than not, modern medicine provides the cocktail of vitamins who are touted as increasing mental activity throughout sleep, and also improve amount, mood, and even anti-aging. The following long list includes that B vitamins, as perfectly as certain enzymes as well as proteins. Some supplements present raw material for neurotransmitters, helping in cell-to-cell communication, among others, such as the antioxidants, clear out free radicals, which advances the growth of healthy brain cells. <em>Taking the Red Pill Is not really Enough </em>However, lucid dream beginners may just be disappointed to learn that taking a pill will not likely make them more “aware. ” Galantamine and the other oneirogens (drugs that improve dreaming) may effect brain chemistry in a manner that promotes self-reflection, but in and involving themselves they mostly act as placebos. And here’s the reason why: becoming self-aware is not really a switch that is “flipped” by removing a pill. Like performance-enhancing drugs known about within the sports world, lucid daydreaming pills may indeed improve your abilities…. but you still have to go to perform everyday. Self-awareness, and a chance to realize “hey, I am experiencing that moment right now” certainly is the product of mental style. If we are not necessarily tuning into our every day waking lives with robust moments of self-awareness, why do we have such epiphanies in the dreams? Waking life is often a dream in itself, naturally, in which we approach our daily habits and routines, and spend nearly all of our time either involved yourself in tasks or “checking outside. “Popping a lucid dreaming pill will not only do much for those folks who are unaccustomed to make sure you self-inquiry, meditation, or regular awareness checks.

A lucid dream can be an often ignored phenomenon in present day society. In it’s most straightforward terms, it is when an important dreamer becomes aware quite possibly dreaming. Often this is definitely confused with controlling an important dream. It is entirely possible for a dream to remain lucid despite not possessing good or any handle over it. Also doable, is controlling a ideal without

A Natural Approach To Pregnancy.

Pregnancy is a nine month journey… It is a time in your life to feel happy, excited, serene and joyful. However it is also quite normal to experience anxieties about the birth and worrying about whether you are nourishing yourself properly, exercising, keeping, calm, positive, loving thoughts and emotions within your being.
Pregnancy lasts 39 weeks or nine months from conception and is looked at in three stages.

Health & Nutrition During Pregnancy.

To ensure that your baby develops in a healthy environment, you should keep your body as fit and well nourished as you possibly can. Do not think in terms of devising a special diet for pregnancy, it is more to do with eating a good variety of the right foods which are those that are rich in the essential nutrients.

Weight Gain

The amount of weight put on by women in pregnancy varies between 9 – 16 kilograms, with the most rapid gain usually between weeks 24 and 32.
Don’t “eat for two”. Some 46 percent of women gain too much weight during pregnancy.

Diet During Pregnancy

You ARE What You Eat therefore Your Baby Is What You Eat!

What You Eat affects your baby’s future. What you eat in the following nine months can impact your baby’s health, as well as your own, for decades to come.

A good diet is vital to health during pregnancy, and to the normal development of the baby. The time to pay attention to diet, and if necessary change it for the better, is several months prior to conception and not when pregnancy is confirmed.

During the critical early weeks the normal, healthy development of the embryo depends on the mother’s state of nutritional health and also her toxic state.

Mineral and vitamin imbalances which would probably go unnoticed in a child or adult can have a disastrous effect on the developing baby.

This is because the cells in the embryo are growing at such a rapid rate, causing an exaggerated response to any harmful influences.

A natural, organic, whole food diet is the only one which will adequately serve during pregnancy.

A high quality diet is needed to maintain your own health and the best possible conditions for the baby to develop.

As our environment becomes more polluted and the soils more depleted of nutrients, going 100% organic, if possible, is the best thing you can do for oneself, and for a developing fetus, and last but not least; the environment.

Pesticides, herbicides, and other forms of pollution interfere with the metabolic pathways of many nutrients and thus indirectly interfere with the development of the immune, endocrine, and neurological systems.

Eating as many of our foods in their live, raw form preserves 70 to 80% more vitamins and minerals, 50% more bioactive protein, and up to 96% more bioavailable vitamin B12.

Grains, nuts and seeds are the most potent health-building foods of all. Eaten raw or sprouted if possible (some grains need to be cooked), they contain all the essential nutrients for human growth, sustenance, and ongoing optimal health.

A well balanced diet is based on whole cereals and grains (brown bread, rice, pasta, buckwheat, rye, oats), nuts and seeds, pulses and beans, fresh fruit and vegetables, pure unrefined oils such as cold pressed olive oil, with some fish and eggs if required.

Fruit and vegetables are all excellent sources of vitamins, minerals and trace elements provided they are eaten in the right way.

They should be fresh, either raw or quickly cooked, steamed or stir-fried, and preferably consumed immediately after they are harvested.

Salt is needed to maintain the extra volume of blood, to supply enough placental blood, and to guard against dehydration and shock from blood loss at birth, (except in cases of kidney and heart problems) Suggested form of salt is Himalayan Pink Salt.

Proteins

* Form the basic building blocks of all our body tissues, Cells, hormones, and antibodies.
* Food must fuel the growth of the uterus, which can grow to 30 times its original size over the nine months gestation period Add the development of breasts, placenta, development of breast milk, the baby’s body.
Proteins are divided into complete and incomplete:
Complete proteins contain significant amounts of all the essential amino acids, you find them in meat, poultry, fish, eggs, milk and soya bean products.
Vegetable proteins are incomplete and contain only some of the essential amino acids. Some vegetarian sources of complete protein are: buckwheat, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, and almonds.

Plant proteins are easier for our bodies to digest and produce less toxic waste than animal proteins. The fiber in plants also has a very beneficial effect on the bowel; it ensures healthy bowel movements and the correct bacterial population in the gut, and prevents the buildup of putrefactive bacteria produced by excess animal proteins.

Eating meat and meat products also carries the risk from chemical and hormonal residues found in intensively reared animals. Also soya beans or soy products are mostly genetically engineered, hence it is wise to stay clear of them.

Pregnant women need about 60 to 75 grams of protein a day.

The best and cleanest sources of protein are green vegetables, spirulina, seeds (hemp, flax, sesame, poppy, sunflower, chia, quinoa, amaranth etc.) and superfoods.

Real strength and building material comes from
* green – leafy vegetables, seeds and superfoods. They contain all the amino acids we require. (Gorilla)

Essential Fatty Acids are vital to

* the development of the baby’s nervous and immune systems. They build the cell walls in all our tissues, and so that trace elements and fat-soluble vitamins (A,E,D, and K) can be absorbed.
* EFA’s are needed to make adrenal and sex hormones, and to maintain a healthy population of bacteria in the gut.
* They are also essential to the normal development of the fetus’s brain: 70 per cent of all EFAs go to the brain.
The Best Fatty Foods include:
Avocados, Borage Seed Oil, Raw Cacao Beans (Chocolate Nuts), Coconut oil/ butter, Flax seed and its oil, Grape seeds, Hemp seed and its oil (cold pressed), RAW Nuts of all types (cashews must be soft to be truly “raw”), Nut Butters (almond butter is excellent), Olives and their oil (stone pressed or cold pressed), Peanuts (must be certified aflatoxin free), Poppy seeds, pumpkin seeds and their oil (cold pressed), Sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, tahini (sesame butter), or even better if you can get hold of it at a health food store unhulled tahini (an alkaline fat, high in calcium), Young Coconuts (young Thai coconuts are available in the US at Asian markets), Coconut milk, coconuts (mature).

SUPERFOODS.

Superfoods are foods with extraordinary properties. Usually they contain all essential amino acids, high levels of minerals, and a wide array of unique, even rare, nutrients. I have included the superfoods in the nutritional tips below.
Some prominent superfoods include:
1) Himalayan Pink Salt – offers 84 minerals exactly identical to the elements in your body.

2) Spirulina (a spiral algae consumed for thousands of years by indigenous people in Mexico and Africa)

 It has the highest concentration of protein on Earth. 60%
 It is also very high in Iron, and many other vitamins and minerals.
 It is one of the highest sources of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) on the planet. Only mother’s milk is higher.
 It is recommended to take more Spirulina during breastfeeding because of the GLA.
 Spirulina is very high in human-active B12.

3) Blue-Green Algae (Klamath lake algae wonderful brain food). It is high in protein, chlorophyll, vitamins, and minerals and enhances the immune system.

 I value it in pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, and lactation for its enhancing effect on brain function.

4) Bee Pollen (wild pollen, not orchard pollen, should be used and should come from ethically harvested sources where bees are treated respectfully. Bee Pollen is nature’s most complete food) All amino acids, immune system, brain, eyes.

5) Flax, Sunflower, Chia, Sesame and pumpkin seeds are the best to use. Flaxseeds are excellent and the highest vegetarian source of omega-3-essential fatty acids, important for the immune system, nervous system, and brain development. I recommend one to two tablespoons daily of the uncooked and unheated oil or three to six tablespoons of freshly ground flaxseeds. (Use a coffee grinder). You may also grind the other above mentioned seeds and add them to salads, and fruit salads.

6) Wild young coconuts (not be confused with white Thai coconuts found in markets, wild coconuts are one of the greatest foods on earth. The coconut water and soft inner flesh are strength enhancing, electrolyte-rich, mineral-rich, youthening and invigorating. Great in smoothies.

NUTRITION TIPS.

Here Are Some Nutrition Tips that will help you both:

1) Get Enough Folic Acid. 400 micrograms (mcg) daily. Folic Acid reduces chance of birth defects such as spina bifida. Especially in the first 6 weeks of pregnancy.
2) Best Food Sources of Folic Acid are: RAW Green leafy vegetables, including spinach, kale, beet greens, beet root, chard, asparagus, and broccoli. Starchy vegetables containing folic acid are corn, lima beans, green peas, sweet peas, sweet potatoes, artichokes, okra, and parsnips. Oats are high in folic acid as well as whole wheat brown bread. Many fruits have folic acid such as oranges, cantaloupe, pineapple, banana, and many berries including loganberries, boysenberries, and strawberries. Also fresh sprouts such as lentil, mung bean sprouts are excellent sources. REMINDER: Folic acid is available from fresh, unprocessed food, which is why it is so common a deficient in our culture’s processed, cooked food diet.

3) Eat Your Fish. Getting enough DHA (found in abundance in seafood and flaxseed) is one of the most important things you can do for you and your developing baby’s health. DHA is the omega-3 fatty acid that can boost baby’s brain development before birth, leading to better vision, memory, motor skills and language comprehension in early childhood. Eat at least 12 ounces a week of low-mercury fish, or take a DHA supplement such as Krill Oil.

* Avoid large, predatory fish such as shark, swordfish, king mackerel and tilefish. (As big fish eat smaller fish, the larger, longer-living ones accumulate more mercury).
* Seaweed and Cilantro remove heavy metals and radioactive isotopes from the tissues.
4) Avoid Alcohol – The main risk of consuming alcohol during pregnancy is the development of “fetal alcohol syndrome” (FAS). mother.. NO AMOUNT IS SAFE. AVOID TOTALLY.

5) Avoid Caffeine: In high amounts causes birth defects and still births, miscarriages and premature delivery.

6) Avoid Drugs – As far as possible all orthodox drugs should be avoided during pregnancy, especially in the first three months. Consider natural alternatives and visiting a medical herbalist or nutritionist prior to conception.

FOODS THAT MAY CAUSE INFECTIONS
Although the chance of contracting one of these rare infections is limited, you will reduce this likelihood even further if you follow the basic guidelines given here.
 Listeriosis – caused by the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes, this is a very rare infection. Its symptoms are similar to flu and gastroenteritis and it can cause still birth.
 Toxoplasmosis – usually symptomless (apart from mild flu symptoms), this can cause serious problems for the baby. Caused by direct contact with the organism Toxoplasma Gondi, it is found in cat faeces, raw meat, and unpasteurized goats’ milk. Soil on fruit and vegetables may be contaminated.
 Salmonella – Contamination with Salmonella bacterium can cause bacterial food poisoning. This doesn’t usually harm the baby directly, but any illness involving a high temperature, vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration could cause a miscarriage or preterm labour.

HERBS TO AVOID DURING PREGNANCY.
Herbal remedies are for the most part quite safe to be taken during pregnancy; some are useful alternatives to drugs both in chronic illness and acute minor problems such as may arise during pregnancy. It is still preferable to take NO MEDICATION whatsoever in the first three months, unless there is a specific problem that needs treatment.

There are many Herbs which should never be taken in pregnancy – their emmonagogue or oxytocic properties may, in large amounts, cause uterine contractions and thereby risk miscarriage: I will only mention a few as there at least twenty on the list.

Nutmeg, Thuja, Calendula, Sage, Thyme, Marjoram, Origanum vulgare,
Lovage, Rosemary, Rhubarb.

Herbs that are safe to eat to take in culinary doses but not as a medicine during pregnancy include:
celery seed, cinnamon, fennel, fenugreek, oregano, parsley, rosemary, sage and saffron.

The Perfect Wedding Depends on the Perfect Photographer : Photographic Memory

Article by Bojan Cakmak

Everyone plans for that special day when all of the pieces fit together. We all make our best effort to find the right banquet halls, the right DJs, the right date…but the most important in my opinion is the right photographer.

A person can plan everything perfectly and the execution can go as smooth as any wedding that has ever occurred. The truth of the matter is that if the right wedding photographer is not there to capture all of the perfection then it only exists in memory, which unlike photographs memories have a tendency to fade. That is the ultimate value in selecting the best photographer to capture the perfect moments.

We all know that weddings are certainly a costly endeavor and hopefully in the end it is all worth it. With that knowledge in mind it makes ultimate sense to be most selective with the photographer you will choose to not only capture the moments that you have created but also to capture the moments as you would like to remember them. A good wedding photographer is more priceless than good music or good food so take the time to do the research and appreciate your joyous moment for the rest of your life.

In addition to finding the best photographer, it is also critical to find the wedding photographer that will put together that album that you can share with your loved one, your friends, and your family for years to come. A good photo album is not just a scrapbook of an event…it is the scrapbook of the beginning of a new life that you will build together with the most special person you will ever meet.

With that being said, much time and consideration should be taken in selecting the right wedding photographer for your most special of occasions. Ask for references, ask for previous works and most importantly analyze the personality of the photographer that you will trust to make your moment last forever in your vision. Also be sure to take into account the history of the wedding photographer. There is a big difference between a photographer who has been shooting weddings for 1 year and one who has been shooting weddings for 25 years and that difference will be quite visible in their work. A good wedding photographer will not only capture your vision but will also be an unobtrusive presence to capture all of your wonderful moments in their truest form.

In conclusion, the only decision that you shouldn’t simply settle on is the wedding photographer you select. You should be critical, you should ask questions and most importantly you should LIKE the wedding photographer that you have chosen to turn your present special moment into a long lasting piece of memorable history.

Haven’t we always heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? While some of society’s favorite pet phrases have no real worth, this one is really true! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and not just for adults – especially for our little ones. What we feed our kids in the morning totally influences how their day – our ours! – goes. Their energy levels, attitudes, and quality of thought and play during the day is all impacted by what fuels their little bodies. And in turn, our day is impacted too! We want the best for their brains and their bodies each day, so we need to pay special attention to what foods are best for them in the mornings.

Conventional breakfasts that we are used to and that kids see advertised on tv promote sugary, processed box cereals, pop tarts, packaged waffles, and overly sweetened yogurts. While all of these might seem like good options, they most definitely are not! Cereals in boxes are laden with high fructose corn syrup, a highly modified sweetener that has no nutritional value, and their long lists of ingredients include many, many preservatives to keep the boxes on the shelves for months. The sugar in most cereals (and yogurts and other packaged foods, for that matter) cause kids’ blood sugar levels to spike unnaturally early in the day, making them tired and lethargic – and cranky. Beyond these mood and attitude aspects, these foods don’t give kids any real energy to play and think and grow during the day.

Instead, we need to make smart choices about good brain foods that come from organic, whole sources without much modification. Organic eggs are a great option – eggs are plentiful sources of choline, a vitamin-like substance also found in nuts, that is absolutely vital for our brains. Choline is key in stimulating the production of memory stem cells which is so important at every stage of growth – but especially for young kids. These particular stem cells help our kids develop strong abilities to remember and to focus. Strawberries and blueberries are two more excellent foods for breakfast. Both are super high in antioxidants which are really important for the brain. Making sure our kids have a diet rich in antioxidants will help improve all of their cognitive functions. If your kids really like cereal, gradually help them to love oatmeal – there is no better breakfast choice. Oatmeal made from organic oats (or even better, stone ground oats….though the texture of the stone ground ones might take a little getting used to!) is high in fiber and plentiful in protein. The slow digestion of oatmeal means that our kids have long energy stores from this super food, helping them maintain proper levels of energy and blood sugar – and preventing energy crashes! – throughout the day.

As moms our attention to the selection and choice of foods we give our kids should not stop at breakfast, however! Foods for nighttime are just as important. The duration and quality of the rest your kids get at night totally impacts how they are during their waking hours. The longer they sleep at night and the more restful and sound that sleep is, the better their attitudes, energy, and focus will be during the day. The length of their nighttime sleep is also directly related to the growth of their brains and muscles. The longer our kids sleep, and the more peaceful that sleep, the better the environment and conditions for their minds to develop and their bodies to grow (this is especially true for infants!!). And we all know how important our kids’ sleep is for us! As parents we need our rest time, too, and it is super necessary that that time is uninterrupted (or with as few interruptions as possible!) so that we can be at our optimal best during the day to meet their needs.

To make sure they get the high quality of sleep they need for their growth, we need to be very mindful of what food they eat for dinner and close to bed time. This is particularly significant for our youngest little ones – as babies need the highest quality of sleep, even more so than our toddlers. Bananas are an excellent food for sound sleep – they contain several wonderful components that make them an ideal natural food choice. High concentrations of magnesium in bananas help relax baby and toddler muscles making it easier for them to fall asleep. Serotonin and melatonin are also found in bananas; both have important effects on the hormone balance in the body and are key things that help soothe the mind and body for sleep.

Honey is another excellent natural choice for prepping for nighttime (though not for those babies under 1 year!). The natural glucose in honey (unlike the sugars found in processed foods, which actually spike blood sugar and raise energy levels) signals to the brain that it is time to calm down and prepare for sleep. Mixing a little bit of warm, raw honey with a mashed up banana is a great way to get our young ones ready for bed. Warm raw milk can have a similar effect (make sure you always, always choose raw, organic milk to get all of the health benefits). Raw milk that has been warmed slightly contains tryptophan, an important sedative for the brain, and calcium, which helps the brain use tryptophan.

to pre-order the book please click here: www.harpercollins.com Brain workouts focused on memory are big business. Memory is located in only one part of the brain. It is movement that connects the intricate web of brain circuitry since different kinds of movement are managed by different areas of the brain. These critical brain circuits work with your muscles, tendons, and joints to dictate the quality of movement throughout the body. In “Super Body, Super Brain”, author Michael Gonzalez-Wallace combines specific movements, involving balance and coordination, creating an atmosphere of multi-tasking connecting the brain circuitry and providing the brain with a workout from front to back and left to right. These movements are combined into a powerful, full-body workout that keeps both your body and brain fit. The program only takes ten minutes per day and delivers maximum results in minimal time creating the ultimate in body and brain efficiency. The workout progresses in difficulty over time as both muscles and brain circuits need challenges in order to stay fit. The program can be done anywhere, by anyone regardless of their shape or level of athletic ability. The book will also include a nutrition program with recommended ‘power brain foods’ and easy-to-follow recipes. Brain Training 101 : Brain Training

Article by Steve Gillman

A little bit of brain training can go a long ways towards better thinking. There are easy techniques for better or more creative thinking, such as brainstorming or just getting a good night’s sleep. The idea here, though, is to train your brain in new habits. It can take some work, but once good habits are established, there is little extra effort involved in your new higher-level of thought.

There are many brain training routines you can work with. Here are two to get you started.

Train Your Brain To Create Examples

Have you ever read something and only “almost” understood it? Often, this is because the author didn’t use good examples, or perhaps not any at all. Suppose I tell you, “The reticular cortex is a part of the brain that discriminates among sensory inputs and stimuli to make you aware of those which are important.” You might nod your head, especially if you’ve read about this. But your understanding may be a bit hazy.

It would be much clearer if I added, “For example, if you are looking for a business to buy, and you give some attention to that goal, you are essentially ‘programing’ the reticular activating system to bring anything relevant to your attention. Your eyes still look at the same scenery, and the same sounds enter your ears, but the non-essential is screened out, while the reticular cortex makes you notice the ‘for sale’ signs on stores or helps you ‘tune into’ conversations about business.”

Now you understand better. A few more examples would probably help as well. If you want to really understand things, then, you need to have examples, and the simpler the better. If the speaker or author doesn’t provide them, create your own. In fact, don’t move on until you do.

Do this with your own ideas as well, whether you are explaining them to another person or just thinking to yourself. Make them as simple as you can, but not too simple. Think of several examples, as though you are preparing to explain the thought to a variety of different people. It could be argued that if you cannot give good examples, you don’t fully understand an idea. Create examples until doing so becomes a habit, and you’ll find that this kind of brain training leads to a better grasp of everything you learn.

Train Your Brain To Be More Self-Aware

Being self-aware may not seem so important to effective brainpower, but it is. When you know yourself better, you can avoid the usual effects of ego and emotion in your seemingly “rational” thinking. Or you can at least take them into account.

Watch yourself, especially as you explain things or argue, and you’ll become aware that much of what we call reasoning is really rationalization. You’ll also see how common it is to try to win an argument or make a point at the expense of digging deeper and understanding something better. This probably can’t be completely overcome, but being aware of what your mind is doing makes it possible to “correct course” and think more rationally.

Observe yourself. As with other types of brain training, the goal here is to repeat this process until it becomes a habit. The self-awareness that results will prevent you from getting into a rut in your thinking. For example, if you are aware that you have a strong desire for certain beliefs to be true, you’ll question whether you’ve lowered the standards of evidence for them. Then you can explore the alternative views more rationally.

Three Memory Techniques To Help You Learn A Foreign Language : Memory Exercises

Article by Maria Markella

Learning a new language can be a difficult task. But if you use these simple memory exercises/techniques you could be start learning a new language in no time.

Memory technique A: The One Hundred WordsThere’s not a lot to say about this particular technique. I know it works for me. The idea is that you only need a 100 strong words to cover over 50% of all words used in a conversation. By learning those 100 strong words you are one step ahead in speaking a new language or at least perform a basic conversation.

But what are those 100 strong words? It depends on the language and yourself. It’s up to you to decide on the strong words since each individual uses and/or is affected by words in a unique way. You can create a list of words and keep adding words to the list. Start with the ten first numbers from one to ten. Then add words you use very often. You must find the hundred top words of your everyday vocabulary.

After you’ve finished your word list in your native language write down the words from the foreign language next to the words from your native language. Exercise on learning/memorizing the new words and you will notice significant improvement in the way you talk to others using the foreign language.

Memory technique B: The MnemonicsThe idea behind this technique is to use images to link words between your native language and the foreign language. What you do is to associate all words with images in your mind. Then you start linking words by connecting images and create new.

Here’s an example of how to create images of words in your mind:You want to learn the Greek word for the English word “Eagle”. First you imagine an eagle opening its huge wings and flying over the mountains. After creating that image in your mind its time to look at the Greek word which in this case is “Aetos”. When you read/say the Greek word, try to picture the same image in your brain, the one of the eagle flying through the clouds. That way your brain will instantly create a connection between the new word and the image of the eagle. This technique will help you learn and remember new words effectively and easily.

Memory Technique C: The Environment MnemonicThis method is quite sophisticated and is based on the fact that the basic vocabulary of every language is somehow connected/linked to everyday things in your environment (You should define your environment, whether it is a room, a house, a village, a city etc). You should start with a place/location you are familiar with. The idea is to start connecting words with objects/locations in your environment.

For example you could associate in your mind the word “Library” with an image of the local library and the word “Book” with images of the books inside the library. You could associate the word “Park” with a park in your town and the word “Tree” with the trees in the park.

This method is so fun and easy when trying to create phrases by using a combination of the above memory techniques. You could easily create an image of a phrase like this one “..I went to the local library to get a book and then I went to the park to read the book..”.

Vinpocetine can be referred to as vincamine’s derivative. Vincamine is an alkaloid present in periwinkle plant, chemically known as Vinca minor. Doctors from Hungary have made use of Vinpocetine for treating senility as well as disorders pertaining to blood vessels (in brain) for around 25 years. It’s a prescription drug from Europe which went on to become available in US in the year 1998 in the form of dietary supplement.

Working

Vinpocetine performs the task of thinning your blood, boosting circulation in brain, and improving ability of brain in terms of having absorbed nutrients, all those improving brain function. Research has indicated that Vinpocetine works as proper as Ginkgo biloba in the process of improvement of cognitive abilities and memory.

Test-tube studies have indicate that Vinpocetine moves ahead with the improvement of bladder function, that too, in the older adults through the enhancement of ability of contracting smooth muscle which happens to line urinary tract, that aids in the prevention of urine leaks.

Evidence

Around hundred human trials are reported to have been conducted on Vinpocetine. Majority of researchers support use of it. Most of the research had been sponsored by Gedeon Richter, Vinpocetine manufacturer from Hungary. This research was conducted at the time of early eighties and early nineties. Certain amount of research had withstood inspection in the peer-reviewed journals.

One of the double-blind trials conducted in the year 1985 in ‘European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology’ tested effect of Vinpocetine on 12 healthy women’s short-term memory. The people who consumed 40 milligrams of Vinpocetine thrice a day, that too, for 2 days secured around 30% higher on the short-term tests of memory than placebo group.

One of the double-blind studies conducted in the year 1991 at ‘International Clinical Psychopharmacology’ happened to test around 165 patients suffering from dementia on a moderate to mild level. After the passage of sixteen weeks, 21% of the individuals who consumed 30-60 milligrams of Vinpocetine on the daily basis reported that symptoms of theirs grew in a less severe manner, in comparison with 7% of the people who took placebo.

An introductory trial on the older adults suffering from urge incontinence got published in ‘World Journal of Urology’ in the year 2000. Out of 19 patients not responding to the standard treatments with regards to such a condition, some of them experienced improvement after having consumed around 15-30 milligrams of Vinpocetine per day for 4 weeks.

How to consume it?

For any conditions like the ones mentioned above, take around 10 milligrams per day, in 2 doses in such a way that they get paired with food. Even though 45 milligrams pr day has been considered to be utmost safe, exceeding 10 milligrams without health care practitioner’s supervision is not recommended. Vinpocetine could be made use of long-term or short-term. Effects of it might be felt at the next instant, even though they aren’t cumulative.

Caveats

Rare side-effects include dry mouth and stomach ache. Have your doctor consulted prior to having taken Vinpocetine is you happen to be pregnant or are already taking any of the blood-thinning drug.

Health Claims

Proponents claim that Vinpocetine improves cognition and memory in the healthy people. It might also help in simplifying urinary Incontinence.

Bottom Line

Vinpocetine is said of having the encouraging safety records. Strong evidence goes on to support ability of it in improvement of brain function.

Brain Training: The Secrets of Peak Performance : Brain Training

Article by Amit Singh

Research has shown that if you expose the human brain to a constant frequency whether it is a flashing light or an audio tone, after several minutes the frequencies in the brain will adjust to match the frequencies of this external stimulus. This is known as the ‘ frequency following response’ and some people refer to it as brainwave synchronization or brainwave entrainment. So, that is what binaural beats are. They usually come in the form of an audio file that can be played on your standard MP3 player for example, with two slightly different audio tones going into each ear. The difference between these tones dictates which frequency the brain will gradually synchronise to. Peak performance brain training is essential for anyone wanting to be at their best in the 21st Century. We’ve had lots of focus on getting fit and eating the right foods over the last 20 years, but very little attention is given to your brain. It’s amazing really because this is like the source of the stream, and everything else flows downhill from there. You absolutely have to be performing mentally at your very best, if you want to surge ahead in life.

There are some simple brain training ideas you can use to achieve and maintain peak performance. Breath control is a great place to start. By taking slow, deep breaths you calm and centre yourself. Whenever you are in a peak performance state, you can anchor that condition with a physical gesture or action like making a fist and punching the air. You will need to repeat this anchor many times to drive it home. Then when you want to get back into that peak performance state you can repeat the anchor and it will trigger the same set of emotional and physiological states you were in before. Relaxation and visualization practice also plays a huge part in getting to be the best that you can be. My personal experience with brain machines started in the late eighties. I discovered the book Mega brain by Michael Hutchison. He described various technologies for accessing and enhancing brain states such as brain machines, float tanks, nutrition, and electro-stimulation. Brainwave Entrainment has untold benefits, than health wise. It could be used to clear limiting beliefs, get rid of stress and anxiety, it makes you calm and relaxed, it could help to attract wealth and abundance and so forth. It could be used to reduce the time we take to meditate in half. For example just listening to a Brain Entrainment or Brainwave Synchronization CD for 30 minutes a day is more than enough to compensate for meditating for 2-3 hours a day. Here’s the possibility. Neurologists suspect that inside your brain is a network figuratively described as the “executive center”…a higher order decision making area. The theory supposes that messing around with this area, via neurofeedback training can trigger the onset of depression in certain individuals. Message? Brain re-training can be potentially serious, therefore you’ll want professional supervision at all times. To maximize the benefits of brain exercises: Relax, laugh, be of good cheer, and stay curious.
