The award winning range of CogniFit brain training products is powered by these core technologies, Cognitive Assessment and ITST (Individualized Training System).

CogniFit Brain Fitness developed the Cognitive Assessment technology to objectively establish the user’s unique cognitive profile before the training begins in order to achieve an optimal cerebral and mental health. An assessment ranks each user’s cognitive skills, such as memory, from strongest to weakest and determines the relative weight of each skill. While some users have an idea about the cognitive skills they want to improve, their perception is necessarily subjective. Given a choice, users tend to prefer working on skills that are easier for them.

Other users may have no idea at all. By using objective scientific analysis, the Cognitive Assessment relieves the user from the need to struggle with understanding a long list of cognitive skills or guessing their skill level by trial and error. Instead, it can automate the selection of an optimal training program, tailored to give the user maximum mind training effectiveness from the very beginning.

Anchored in Reality
ITST (Individualized Training System) is a patented, technologically advanced real-time application that manages each user’s training experience. Using sophisticated algorithms on data provided by the assessment, ITST configures an individualized training program with an optimal balance of tasks and levels of difficulty to match the user’s cognitive profile. Ongoing, ITST ensures maximum training effectiveness by continually monitoring the user’s performance and adjusting the tasks in real time.

Children’s DHA, Supplements and Brain Development : Brain Foods

Article by Steve Geysbeek

Have you ever asked yourself this question, “what’s DHA and what does it have to do with my child’s health?” Here is some information on what DHA is, some facts about what the body uses it for and tests and research concerning DHA reinforcement.

DHA ( docosahexaenoic acid ) is a long-chain omega-3 greasy acid that comes from fish oil. It’s the longest and most unsaturated of the omega-3 trans-acids and is considered physiologically necessary in the correct growth and development of the brain, nerve system and retina to support optimal cognitive function. DHA really accumulates in the brain our first couple years of life; no other omega fatty acid does this. When born DHA makes up about 93% of the omega-3 acids in the retina and 97% of the omega-3 fatty acids in the brain and increase as the brain develops during the first two years of life and after based on measures in the cerebral cortex up to eighteen years old. Basically; DHA=brain food.

When applying to the brain, DHA, often combined with EPA ( eicosapentaenoic acid ) in augmentation, is critical for correct brain function. It is present in high concentrations coating parts of the neural surfaces ( providing fluidity and permeability ) where it has been found to play a vital role in the capability of the brain to send and receive clear signals and therefore function correctly. Basically, if you think about the nerves as electric wires in the sense that they send electrical impulses and have a coating to keep the current within the wire and broadcasting smoothly; the coating on our nerves is made of a high content of omega-3 fatty acids most of which is DHA. Meaning the more DHA in your grey matter the better it can work.

What does this have to do with children’s health? In doing the analysis for this work I found there were many studies ( some of which can be found on dhaomega3.org ) that show a relationship between cognitive function, some behaviour issues, learning capability, memory, some reading disabilities, grades at college, visible acuity and levels of DHA in the brain. From the womb and beyond DHA plays an important role under development. Babies whose mas got at least 200-300mg of DHA each day when carrying the baby have been shown to have better visual acuity at sixteen and 30 weeks. Breast-feeding mas or babies who require formula can supplement with DHA food supplements and formulas that contain DHA

In Sweden a study was conducted of fifteen years old college children and found that those that consumed fish high in omega-3’s more than once per week had 15% higher grades than those who consumed fish less than once per week. Not only that, another study showed cumulative benefits from lengthened ingestion of DHA may eventually over time have positive effects on school performance. In this study a daily intake of 127mg of DHA+55mg of EPA, as gotten from fish oil, embedded in bread spread was given to 7-9 year olds over a six month period. The control group had less than 20% of that intake. The bolstered kids had improvement ( based primarily on the Hopkins verbal Learning Test ) in recognition by 9%, discrimination index improvement of 20% and the same with the spelling test. DHA even seems to have a positive effect on dyslexia; after taking 480mg of DHA+108mg of EPA+ a lower level of GLA ( gamma-linolenic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid ) for twenty weeks the twelve year olds showed a 60 percent improvement on reading tests. It should be mentioned however this was an open-pilot trial. More studies are being done and need to be done but this is undeniably a fascinating beginning.

An inspiring study proved that a DHA / EPA mix given to autistic 5-17 year olds reduced their hyperactive symptoms. Studies are ongoing to find the best mix levels of DHA / EPA and dose to help these kids. Other issues such as ADHD may be due to metabolic differences in greasy acid metabolism, causing fatty acid profiles that are out of whack, including lower levels of DHA causing poor information transmission in nerves. Scientists are researching what combination of omega-3 and omega-6 supplementation could help with certain sides of ADHD behaviors.

The deal with DHA and even a DHA / EPA mix is that it’s been shown to be important for development health in youngsters and folks of all ages especially as we get older. All in all it is advised that children get at least 100-150mg of DHA from the food they eat. A technique to do that’s by providing a low contaminate fish a couple times every week, or tuna from a can. Be careful, a lot of fish contain mercury, pesticides, toxins and dioxins; raised levels are not good for anybody let alone youngsters.

If you choose a food supplement ensure you find a credible company that goes through severe standard quality testing, ideally a few QC tests and outside laboratory testing. Some corporations on the store shelves have been recalled due to unsafe levels of PCBs. You are looking for a pharmaceutical grade form of DHA, one which has gone thru filtration more than 2 times.

With so much going on in our kids’ lives and all the kick, it could be wise to give their brains some extra food. DHA and DHA / EPA combo are a way to give them the tools they need to be in a position to concentrate and use their minds to the very best of their capabilities. Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids and fish low in contaminates or a food supplement are the best way to do that.

Children’s dha is important in early development. read more on DHA and Nutrition For ADHD Children, Natural Treatment For ADHD.

Brain Training Can Help Students Pass Their Tests and Exams : Brain Training

Article by sturat jeff

When we talk about brain coaching people often feel this is something for any senior citizens. Obviously, this is an excellent thought for anybody getting more mature and wanting to maintain their brain best match. But can you imagine that youngsters also require mind coaching? Not when your brain as well as storage are slowly decreasing, but because your mind hasn’t been completely started yet. Or at least does not work at best performance. All this you will notice while you are studying for your exams and exams.

To whom may this apply? In brief for students with difficulties within the short storage, the running memory and the long-term storage. That means if you have short storage problems you frequently forget that which was simply said, individuals with working memory problems are performing something and forget it while doing it and students with permanent problems have been learning and learning, but cannot find it up as needed at a test.

You wish to do anything about it? I advise you don’t only teach your system at fitness and sports and during the weekend at night clubs as well as dances. Select the mind training too as well as you might turn out to be a much better student compared to you actually imagined you may be. Simple as might with only a few little tricks.

For example, if you’ve been learning for a examination, look at your book(s) before you go to bed. By doing this you’ll keep in mind much easier that which you happen to be learning most mid-day. Which will really help, although putting the guides beneath your cushion to consider superior is just very persistent fantasy.

In case you study your research books, underline, emphasize, and create with the margins etc. By doing this you are what they call ‘actively reading’ and you’ll much better keep in mind that which you have been studying. The book gets ‘yours’ as well and then on you rapidly can review what you have read. From general observations with mine learners I can add that composing a short overview following each and every section will likely train your brain more. You will remember what you wrote down; such as you remember the shopping list you’ve made after which quit at the dining table.

If you need to create computations, be sure you write down on the piece of paper every step you’re making to solve the problem. By doing this every thing remains nicely in place and you’ll keep in mind constantly just what you’re doing.

On the web you’ll find specific brain training plans for students that will help you to boost your storage. Just remember the sooner you teach your mind to operate at best velocity, the lengthier you will appreciate your energetic brain!

Vitamin B12 is the largest and most complex of all the vitamins. Vitamin B12 is commonly found in milk, cheese, shellfish, meat and eggs and various other dairy products. Vitamin B12 is known to help maintain the health of the body’s nerve and red blood cells, as well as being essential for making DNA. Vitamin B12 is a popular ingredient in anti-aging creams, since a lack of Vitamin B12 in the body contributes to the aging of skin. Vitamin B12 is available in injection form, as a stand-alone topical product and as an ingredient in many anti-aging creams.

Deficiency

Vitamin B12 deficiency is most commonly the result of inadequate absorption. Deficiency symptoms and disorders associated with low levels of Vitamin B12 are pernicious anemia weakness, personality changes, mood changes, and abnormal sensations like tingling in the arms and legs. Deficiency is more commonly linked to the inability to absorb the vitamin due to lack of intrinsic factor than to insufficient dietary intake. Since the body stores vitamin B12, symptoms of deficiency can take up to four to five years of poor dietary intake or lack of intrinsic factor production to appear. Additional symptoms related to deficiency are poor appetite, tiredness, nervousness, neuritis, degeneration of spinal cord, depression, and lack of balance.

It is important to remember that you should not use the information on this website for diagnosing or treating a health problem or disease, or prescribing any medication. This article provides a general overview. Consult with your health professional for specific personal advice in this area.

Body

Body stores of vitamin B12 can be managed by a daily oral supplement of B12. Vitamin B12 needs an intrinsic factor in order to be fully absorbed by the body. It also helps strengthen the capillaries in the body. As any excess vitamin B12 is naturally excreted by the body, it is not thought to be a dangerous supplement to take, although of course you should mention taking it to your doctor. Vitamin B12 is very efficiently conserved by the body, with 65-75% re-absorption rates common.

Anemia

Anemia is the first sign that the body is not getting an adequate supply of Vitamin B12. Anemia can result from a variety of medical problems, including deficiencies of vitamin B12, vitamin B6, folate and iron. Anemia may also be due to folic acid deficiency, folic acid also being necessary for DNA synthesis.

Supplements

Vitamin B12 is available in a number of different forms, such as injections, topical creams and supplements to be taken orally. There are vitamin supplements, which do not contain animal products for those who prefer to have a vegetarian diet. Adults are advised to limit their folic acid intake (through supplements and fortification) to 1 mg per day. Large intakes of vitamin B12 from food or supplements have caused no toxicity in healthy people. The principal form of vitamin B12 used in supplements is cyanocobalamin.

Healthy Diet and Lifestyle

A healthy diet and balanced lifestyle will add immeasurably to one’s general feeling of well-being and enjoyment of life. It is something to strive for continuously.

It is Time to start Improving your memory : Photographic Memory

Article by aymen boudous

It will be cool to actually remember all the names of the people we meet or recite from memory all of the books that we have read. But not all people are blessed with a photographic memory that can capture a lot of data. The most that most people can do is to remember about 50 percent of the details in the books that they have read and recall about 10 names in the 50 people they meet. But hey, this does not mean that we should all give up wanting to make our memory better.

Although we cannot actually make our memory as powerful as one with a photographic memory, we can at least improve its processes so that we can recall more names than we usually do. This is especially true with people who are already aging. As we grow older, our memory slips. This is why most of our grandfathers and mothers often forget a lot of things, even our names.

Below are some names on how to make your memory a little bit better. Read on and you might still be able to do something with that faulty memory of yours.

1. Start earlyIt is important to take care of the brain early on to avoid forgetfulness when old age comes. Brain development starts at a very young age, from 0-3 years old. It is during this time when your brain grows the fastest. Although you may not have any power over your parents actions during this time, you can at least add to their care when you are much older, say 6 or 7 years old, by eating the right foods and avoiding as you grow old vices like cigarettes and alcohol which are proven to lessen memory skills.

2. Commit to the improvementYou should at least be able to commit to the task of bettering your memory. You may not realize it but it is not as simple as memorizing a grocery list and practicing your brain with crossword puzzles and memory games; you will also be changing the way you live your life and the food that you eat. Changing your lifestyle and your diet takes a lot of gumption and self-discipline from you. You will not be able to do it if you do not commit wholeheartedly to the task.

3. Practice Use your brain. Whether it is something as simple as reading a book or playing a strategy game like chess, exercising your brain will help keep those neurons awake and working. In fact, studies have shown that those who answer crossword puzzles, read or generally use their brains will less likely become senile or acquire Alzheimer’s Disease. Using your brain will prevent it from being rusty and dusty.

4. Visualize it One of the most common techniques to improve memory is to visualize words and things. You see, the brain sees data as pictures. It will be easily stored and faster to retrieve if it is seen and visualized as one picture than when it is memorized as numbers or words. For instance, if you are trying to memorize a grocery list, you do not memorize the words. You memorize the pictures of the things that you need to buy. That way, when you go to the grocery store, you will remember to buy that item, bettering your memory in the process.

There is certain ways you need to do in order to better your memory if you need to see more about the subjet please visit our blog memory enhancement.

How and Why does it work?

Simply put, if you can count and know your abc’s you can use these tips to improve your memory. We all have the ability to retain separate images in our minds quite easily, and by using this kind of system of combining different elements, the images remain quite distinct from one another. Since they are sequence based with a system we are already familiar with, that of counting, we know we won’t miss anything important.

Check out this FACT: When Albert Einstein died they opened up his head to look at his brain. It was actually smaller than average size! However, he used much more than most people. By practicing these memory “stunts” you will enable yourself to retain larger amounts of information. Being a genius is not so much as being smart or clever, but about seeing how one part of life fits with another part of life. The more you know, the more you can link them together. So let’s start thinking like a genius!

An example of this practice is remembering numbers. Let’s try an easy one 81476. Try to picture each number as a shape or object. (8) how about a snowman. (1) how about a paint brush. (4) how about a sail of a yacht. (7) how about a cliff. (6) maybe a trunk of an elephant. Now create a quick story linking them together. The snowman was using a paintbrush to paint his yacht on a cliff while feeding his pet elephant. While numbers tend to get jumbled in our head this method gives a visual that can be remembered a lot more easily. While this might seem complicated, having a standard shape or object for each number (at all times) will make it simple with practice.

Unfortunately, you can not decide where something goes into your memory – into short term or into long term! In fact, it will ALWAYS go into short term memory first and requires further effort to get it into the long term memory area. It’s like having a filing tray and a filing cabinet. You can only store so much in the filing tray until you need to get it into the cabinet.

It might not be too surprising to note that there is a significant link with good nutrition and a powerful memory. After all. The building blocks of the brain are organic, the electrical signals are produced from the body. The results are that the better you eat the better you are able to perform. More information on this and many other topics can be found at the authors website. Try to work these skills into your everyday life and you will guarantee results.

Cure Erectile Dysfunction – Naturally Using The Konov Principle : Memory Exercises

Article by sacha tarkovsky

ED, or erectile dysfunction, affects over 50% of men over 50, and as a man ages, that number raises dramatically.

The blue pills, have become one the world’s largest selling medicine due to this condition. However, all the blue pills have unpleasant side-effects, and some men cannot take them due to their need to take other medications, here is a way to cure ED which is little known and can be highly effective.

Can ED really be cured naturally?

The answer is yes! The method is the use of the Konov Principle, and learning about how to contact and engage your genetic memory.

The Konov Principle

First suggested by the Russian filmmaker and thinker, Sergey Konov, the Konov Principle suggests that each person can contact and remember (physically if not mentally) their genetic memory.

Genetic memory is akin to Rupert Sheldrake’s morphogenetic field, but more specific and concerned with the genetic storage of life events of each person.

By getting in conscious contact with one’s genetic memory, a person can trigger those responses the body made when it was young and healthy. A good example, when concerned with ED, is that one’s genetic memory has all the records of the body’s responses when it had no problem with ED.

By “remembering” via one’s genetic memory, one can induce those same responses, at least partially, and arrive at state where the body is receiving the same doses of hormones, and proteins it did when there was no ED.

Getting in Touch with our Genetic Memory

There are certain memory exercises that can be used to get in conscious contact with their genetic memory. For this article, here is the simplest one. By daily practice of this exercise, one will be able to recall his earlier pattern, and the body will respond to conscious will to repeat it.

While sitting in a comfortable position, one can practice breathing exercises to relax. This is a yogic exercise called “watching the breath”. While sitting comfortably, start mentally watching your breath. Feel and then see the air rushing in and out, and down to the lung, and into each small areole. Do this for about 5 minutes.

As you are relaxed, visualize you can see inside your body. Follow this new power and look into a familiar organ related to your problem, and in this case ED. Go deep into your body and come to the testicles. This is an obvious area, and indeed, the cells of the testicle are charged with male hormones.

Keep visualizing going deeper until you are in a cell itself.

Find the chromosomes (they are in the cell nucleus), and you can see them all twisted up together, as if strands of spaghetti.

Go deeper till you see the proteins themselves that comprise the DNA.

Go deeper still till all you see are the waves of atoms (as if watching the sea) and there you will notice pure intelligence. There is the place where the genetic memory is stored.

When you have visualized this, see the place when your body was at its very best moment.

You can see this as the area is surrounded by a bright and peaceful light. Now, simply gaze upon it, and when you feel you have irradiated that area with your thought, now remember yourself when you were young and virile. Recall your rock-hard erections, and burning libido. When those thoughts have become conscious, slowly go back to watching your breath, and then stop the exercise.

What have you achieved?

You have, if done properly and sincerely, stimulated yourself at the cellular, even molecular level. This, if repeated with sincere effort, will cause the body to begin releasing the chemicals and nervous impulses it did when you originally had them.

Your libido will naturally increase, and moreover, the contacting of your genetic memory with active thought will in full or part, cause your body to follow suit. You will find yourself feeling young and virile once again and cure erectile dysfunction naturally without medication.

Increase Brain Power to Give Yourself More Power : Brain Power

Article by Christian Hall

The human brain is a fantastic organ, which remains a mystery to humans presently. Scientists have discovered that we hardly tap into the vast potentials of our brains over the course of our lives. In order to increase brain power, there are some basic things that have to be done.

The brain is like any other muscle in the body, in that if it is not exercised regularly, it becomes lazy, and cannot function well. Hence, the first thing that has to be done is to exercise your brain. This brings up the question, how do you exercise your brain? Simple, use it more. Perform activities that require you to think. Examples include playing sudoku, crosswords, and so on. Chess is also a good activity that exercises the brain. It’s okay if you can’t solve any of them at the beginning, but do not give up. Keep trying till you solve one, then keep trying till you are able to solve them more quickly and with greater regularity.

Another method to increase brain power involves exercise. It has been proven that exercise releases endorphins, which are the chemicals your body produces to refresh and re-energize the body. You do not have to go for a full workout to release endorphins, as a simple walk or light jog will do. Just make sure to exercise regularly.

The brain is also our memory store, and you should try to memorize and recall from memory as often as possible. It’s a good idea to start with your friends phone numbers. Rather than looking them up from your address book, or speed dialing, try to always recall their numbers. In addition, read books on various topics, unrelated to your current field, and also watch informative television programs. Try to think analytically and systematically about these, and think about different ways of achieving what you’ve watched or read.

Finally, learn to relax. Our world is very fast paced and stressful, and we hardly have time to really relax. Meditation is a great way to relax the brain.

The above simple tips can help increase brain power, which you need to succeed at whatever your current endeavors may be.

Quickly and easily learn these super effective techniques to increase brain power. Thousands have already learned to unleash their mind powers and create massive success in all areas of their life. You can too! There’s still time! Go to http://www.mindpowerunleashed.info now!

CONQUER THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE

“Buongiorno everyone!”

Are you planning a fabulous holiday to Italy and you would like to learn their language?

Do you have Italians living nearby that you would love to impress with your ability to speak their language?

Maybe you are marrying into an Italian family and need to know what those in-laws-to-be are really saying about you!

Or maybe you have just always wanted to learn the most romantic language in the world! Italian!

The thing I love about Italian is that it is not unlike English in its spelling and pronounciation of words. When you are learning German, French or Japanese you are really starting from scratch as most of their words are completely different to ours!

Before I travelled overseas, I decided to be fluent in at least one language so that it made it easier in one country for me! I learnt French at school and had a vague memory of the language – so I didn’t feel I needed to relearn that one… but I have always had an underlying love for the sound of the Italian language when it’s spoken!

So off I went to Italian classes one night a week for 10 weeks! I would have to drive to the local high school and sit in an uncomfortable chair in the freezing night air to learn this beautiful language! Well, thank God for computers and the internet! Now you can learn anything you want in the comfort of your own home and at any time that is convenient for you!

And you can learn and conquer a language so much easier now. It has been discovered how the brain actually takes in new information better – when I learnt Italian – I had the chunky text book in front of me and the teacher would write away on the chalkboard! Boring and tedious!

Now you can learn Italian or any language with just 20 minutes each day by playing games! Most of us think that people who learn a new language with ease possess linguistic talents and are fast learners. But the truth is that talents have very little to do with how well an individual is able to grasp a new language!

To learn ANY new language… you need a foolproof way of remembering the most commonly used words like the back of your hand! Language experts recently found that as much as 50% of all everyday conversations in Italian (or in any other language for that matter) consists of not more than 1000 words.

Now let’s think about this for a moment… If you have a way of magically imprinting 1000 most commonly used Italian words in your mind, and be able to use them anytime, anywhere and in any context…

How will it change the way you speak Italian?

Imagine:

* You’ll no longer have problems finding the right word to use!

You’ll be able to make new friends, broaden your perspective and even impress others with your newfound language skills!

The brain is most receptive and best suited for learning when it is in a highly relaxed state. Playing Italian Matching Games allows you to match up to 25 random pairs of Italian and English phrases at any one time, generated from a database of 1000 most commonly used words.

The world around us is commonly represented in 3 forms… words, visuals and numbers. In order to develop a photographic memory that works well in a real life setting, you’ll need to quickly form associations between words, visuals and numbers using various memory techniques.

You can simply play a flash card memory game for as little as 5 to 15 minutes daily, or whenever you feel like it. Through the engaging format of a scoring game, your brain is actually strengthening the kind of associations it can make between words, visuals and numbers…

… and where does this lead to? A proficient speaker of Italian! You will have conquered the Italian language with ease! You will be chatting away to the locals in Rome before you know it!

How to Make Your Memory Work For You : Photographic Memory

Article by Dion Daly

It can begin with some minor instance like forgetting the birthday of a colleague at work. Then your friend, and then the birthdays of people really near to you: like your family. Hey! Or even worst your wedding anniversary. After that, it could be that you forget the way to your best friend’s house, or to your favorite restaurant. And then if your memory gets really bad you forget your own keys inside your home.Don’t worry! The thing is everyone suffers from moments of forgetfulness.

Even though, you weren’t probably born with a photographic memory, the good news is there are ways to improve the memory, and it doesn’t matter how old you are you can still do it!

As the body gets older, the neurons in the brain also get older. Some will die while others perform in a more sluggish way than usual. This is why people who are very old have a more confused memory than much younger people.

But hey! As stated above, there are ways to enhance the memory, and here are some ways to do it.Do you use visuals or sounds? What kind of learner are you? Some people use visuals to remember things, others sound. If you are a visual person for example, all you need to do if you are trying to remember a shopping list is to look at the whole list and you will then be able to see in your mind the list. Other people, however, are more into sounds they need to hear the list before they can remember it: they read the list out loud to themselves. If you want to find out which method will work for you, try recalling how you memorize at school. Do you see the words in your mind (visual) or do you read them out loud (sound)?

Make use of associations: the brain needs assistance when it comes to remembering things. The simpler you make the remembering task for the brain the easier it will be for it to remember information. Associating information with things that we already know has been used in memory development for centuries. For example, have you heard of mnemonics?

When memorizing a group of words, we frequently take the first letter of that word and then form a sentence or words from those letters. Associating the word that we are trying to commit to memory with the first letter makes it simpler for the brain to remember.

Try to visualize it: have you ever thought why the expression photographic memory is use for people with a truly outstanding memory? The reason is that people who actually memorize well or have an excellent memory do not see one thing or one bit of information when memorizing. They see a picture of the words in set. For example, a person with a shopping list will typically memorize the items on the list one by one, but people who have studied memory improvement will memorize it in its entirety. They will examine the list and visualize it as a whole until they can see the list in their mind- just as if they were holding it in their hands.

Eat the right foods: a great way to a better memory is to take on a healthier diet. Your diet will have a great influence on your skill to memorize things. Eating wholesome brain foods like fish, milk and tofu will assist your brain to perform better and faster. There are numerous ways to improve the memory, but the most significant thing is to promise yourself that you will improve your memory no matter what. Good Luck!
